N(H)appily Surprised and Thoroughly Satisfied!!, June 7, 2010
This review is from: Un-Nappily in Love (Paperback)
This is a continuation of a great series!! You wonder how an author can keep things fresh and exciting with the same characters (sans any murder mysteries to solve), but Trisha Thomas does it effortlessly. I just love Jake and Venus--Jake is the type of guy any girl would love--I'm thinking a little Micheal Ealy, and Venus has chutzphah. This one focuses more on the strength of their relationship and also showcases an evolved Trevelle Duvall. I'd like to see what happens with her and Vince. I'd also like to see what happens with the pregnancy and (spoiler alert) is Christopher really Jake's son. (That's all I'll give away, promise.) I don't think Sirena is gone just yet. Oh, and where, oh, where is Legend?? I hope Ms. Thomas keeps them coming; I look forward to the next installment. If you haven't read them in order, do yourself a favor and start from the beginning--it will be well worth it!!

Love that Stands the Test, August 19, 2010
This review is from: Un-Nappily in Love (Paperback)
As a wife, it is heartwarming to be a part of your husband's success and to encourage him, but when Jake Parson became a very famous actor, adjustments in their family had to be made, including dealing with the paparazzi and new fans. In Un-Nappily in Love, author Trisha R. Thomas shares how Jake's wife, Venus, handles being the wife of such a famous celebrity while trying to keep her sanity and as much normalcy in her life at the same time.
Movie shoots, publicity interviews, location changes, long hours, days and weeks all became a part of the Parson household when Jake went from being a famous recording artist to instant movie celebrity with his first movie. His leading lady, Sirena Lassiter, not only convinced movie-goers that their romantic relationship was real on the movie screen, but she worked to make it appear as real as possible for the cameras off-screen as well.
Venus did all she could to be there for Jake, and bask in his success, but she still had a house to care for, a daughter to raise and a flower shop to oversee. However, it was becoming more and more difficult to stand under the scrutiny of the public's and media opinion of Jake and Sirena's true relationship and what that could mean to the health of her marriage.
Will Jake and Venus's marriage succumb under the pressures of the new changes in their lives, or will the love they have for one another prove the test of time? Un-Nappily in Love is a story that will have you fighting for Venus and urging her to do what you already know you would do if you felt someone was a threat to your marriage. I have to admit that sneakers and Vaseline quickly came to mind, but I do appreciate the way author Thomas allows love to have its free course.
I recommend this book to everyone who loves romance and true love.
