5.0 out of 5 stars Props For Wonderful, Spiraly, Kinky, Curly, Napptural Hair, October 18, 2003
This review is from: Nappyisms: Affirmations for Nappy-Headed People and Wannabes! (Paperback)
For those contemplating nappturalness and for those on their journey to self: I highly recommend this book. Though not a napptural hair care "bible" or "how to" hairstyle book, I found this book written by Ms. Jones to be an affirming, supportive book for women of African descent to wear their God-given napptural hair in all of its awesome, bodacious, unique, gravity defying, creative, glory. It is rather humorous too; especially the witty "snap back" section that offers ways to deal with those who find it puzzling that a Black woman would dare to wear
her hair in a non-straightened, Eurocentric hair style.

This is a welcome book in my napptural hair care library. A big shout-out to Linda Jones for her book.

5.0 out of 5 stars uplifting to natural women, February 4, 2007

i enjoy this little book. it's full of "thoughts" and affirmations. to me it's just positive vibes that equip you for being in a world that doesn't always support the beauty of natural hair women. if you're looking for styling options and a lot of education about natural haist this book isn't it but if you're looking for something to reaffirm your decision to go or remain natural this is it. plus i like the author. she writes for several on-line columns and is the founder of a nappy hair affair, so i was glad to be able to support her work.

3.0 out of 5 stars Funny but.., January 9, 2007
This review is from: Nappyisms: Affirmations for Nappy-Headed People and Wannabes! (Paperback)
It is a funy and at the same time give you courage to live with the desision of being proud and feeling beautiful with your natural hair, BUT it could have been a litle bit more elaborated for example the essays .
You find great material in many websites so you would expect that in a book is even better.
