What the hell happened here? did midway accidentally release an unfinished game? Short and sweet....This game sucks....bad....illegally bad. Terrible graphics... choppy controls, and the whole buying and selling drug thing gets old after a while. And whats with the 3 song playlist? They must have given the artists a preview copy of this game, thats probably why no one would let their music in this game. c'mon Midway...you're better than this.

More fun than Grand Theft Auto,

Let me start off by saying I am not a big gamer. Not at all. The last game I bought was Grand Theft Auto for Xbox over a year ago; and the only time I really play games are when I'm with my friends. But when I found out about this game, I immediatly went to Best Buy and paid the low price of $20. I found out about Narc in a New York Times article and was immediatly drawn to it because of the nature of the game--selling and taking drugs. The fact that this is quite possibly the most controversial video game available is what made me buy it.
The plot of the game is loosly based on the Phillip K. Dick novel, A Scanner Darkly. A new drug, "Liquid Hope," is on the streets of New York that is destroying society one addict at a time. It is your job as a undercover narcotics officer to find and stop the production and trafficking of the drug. But you develop two personalities: one as a high ranking undercover angent, and another as a dilapidating drug addict. The game for the most part is incredibly realistic. You can buy and sell drugs on the streets to pedestrians and can take and become addicted to drugs. For instance, smoking pot slows down time but lets you aim perfectly, and a hit of crack gives you a "crack shot," meaning you can kill anyone with just one bullet. This game will bring hours of fun to those that can handle the "mature content." The graphics may not be top notch, but that really doesn't matter when you're beating up drug dealers and smoking crack, does it?

i reallly loved this game! it was extreamily fun and my most favorite part was taking the drugs lol. i mean, sure, mabey it wasnt anything like the 1988 arcade NARC, and it did let you take drugs, but hey, doesnt it make it more fun? i gave this game a 5-star in fun-ness and 4-star in overall only because some of the missions get some sor of glitch or are just insanely hard. but overall, i loved this game and i think its a great buy!

This game had so much going for it. But, like most '80's video games that have been redone it SUCKS. Crappy story, followed by crappy gameplay. I think Midway should of held off the release to improve. I know this isn't GTA, but that is beside the point.
