Narcosis Is Addictive !, June 8, 2008

Steven John Kilbey is the talented and enigmatic lead vocalist of The Church. "Narcosis" is an austere, mood-swinging CD that is also replete with some of most innovative songwriting, vocals and music that is assuaging for the ears. Kilbey's music is intricate and it takes a few plays for this CD to penetrate into your psyche. Kilbey's vocals are literally an instrument that drive the songs. He's a very literate lyricist and adroitly plays several instruments. "Narcosis" is for music fans who like music ranging from the Doors to Stan Ridgeway. There is a great deal of mysticism inherent in many of the CD's finer songs.
