This review is from: Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave: Written by Himself (An African American Heritage Book) (Paperback)
Years ago after reading this book it was obvious to me this book should be recommended as a necessary part of the curriculum for school-age children. It has motivational education that comes from reading books such as "The Good Earth" and "Grapes of Wrath" and is a read that will be remembered and life lessons to be applied. The life of Ambassador Frederick Douglass is incredibly inspirational and should be recognized not only by African Americans but by all American citizens.
