Andrew Green's Narrow Margin is thoughtful, provocative and exciting music of the highest order. Green's compositions balance great guitar lines with sinuous saxophone and a broad palette of musical colours. This is an album that grows deeper with each listen and is intelligent and accessible. The tunes bend and meander, creating suspense and surprise, just like the B Movies that they are based on. Green lightening won't dissapoint you.

Having really enjoyed AG's books (must have's for the aspiring jazz guitarist!), I thought I'd like to hear how he puts his concepts together. It wasn't exactly what I had expected. It is much edgier than expected, but very listenable! I never saw the '52 film, but there is plenty of drama here. The tunes are very diverse, but they really flow well. It seems that something new catches my ear every time I listen to it, and Mr. Green and his ensemble of first-class players (the trumpet player blows my socks off!) take me in a whole new direction.
