A good pararallel worlds spanning saga,

This book along with "No Brother, No Friend" & "Vestiges of Time" comprise "The Timeliner Trilogy" (published as one
volume, by Arrow Books 1987, ISBN 0-09-951690-X) and follows the the adventures of one cross time mercanary, and his realization that his employers aren't all they make out to be.

Excellent parallel-world adventure,

I read the "Timeliner Trilogy" 20 years ago and loved it. I recently dug it out and read it again - I enjoyed it even more as an adult. It's a great adventure story. Sadly, the author died in 1979 before the last book was published, so this is then end of his work.
