These episodes of Naruto Shippuden continue the "Konoha's Legacy" story arc, which originally ran during the seventh and eighth broadcast seasons in Japan. The short adventures mix material from Masashi Kishimoto's manga with original anime content to reveal how Naruto Uzumaki influenced the people around him, going back to the original Naruto series. Inari, a young carpenter helping to rebuild the Hidden Leaf Village after Nagato's attacks, recalls how Naruto's example and his late father's training gave him the strength to fight the gang of two-bit thugs who threatened his village. His testimonial reduces ramen-slurping bad boy Naruto to a blubbering heap of sentimentality. Many of the stories have a small but powerful emotional core: Naruto realizes he could never grasp the pain Sasuke experienced when his family was murdered, and resolves to communicate his greater understanding at their next meeting. But the episodes also feature the rollicking silliness fans expect from Naruto. In "Ah, Medicinal Pill of Youth," Naruto sets out to find the rare flower Guy-sensei needs to make medicine for Rock Lee, so he dresses up in the green suit "Bushy Brow" usually sports. Naruto and his cohorts have to face a variety of "ninja animals," including a bad-tempered ostrich who bedevils Naruto and a boxing kangaroo who squares off against Rock Lee. Obtaining the paw print of the boss of the "ninja cat underworld" requires Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto to don kawaii cat ears and speak in meows. Episodes 187 and 188, which recount an early mission with "Pervy Sage" Jiraiya, were originally shown as an hour-long special. Naruto may be a self-proclaimed knucklehead, but as these episodes prove, his dedication to his friends never falters, which explains why he has so many friends and admirers--on and off the screen. (Rated T+ Older Teen, but suitable for ages 12 and older: violence, violence against women, minor risqué humor, grotesque imagery, alcohol and tobacco use) --Charles Solomon

Product Description

After Pain's attack, the Leaf Ninja set about rebuilding their village. Naruto and Sakura are thrilled to be reunited with Tazuna and his grandson Inari from the Land of Waves, who have come to help. While the restoration proceeds, the Leaf Ninja and their friends reflect on past events that influenced the village and helped gain allies like the Sand. Plus, we get a glimpse back into Naruto's training journey with Jiraiya, and join the original Team 7 on a mission when Sasuke was still with them!

Well, they are doing the filler before another story arc in this one.

I'm sure it will be just as wonderful as the other 14 volumes.

This is the majority of fillers from the "Konoha History Arc" while the first four episodes of this arc are on box set 14.

"This arc is shown as multiple flashbacks from different characters, such as Iruka remembering the time he first met Naruto and Kakashi remembering when he was appointed as leader of Team 7 from his perspective. The first flashback takes place prior Part I while the rest all take place before the time-skip. This arc is preceded by the Invasion of Pain Arc and is followed by the Five Kage Summit Arc."

This is for any die hard Naruto fan that collects the series (as i do) It contains fillers of the past of Naruto and friends. Some people don't like fillers, but i see it as more in depth story creation. Anyways, if you love the Naruto series like i do, this is a must get. This box set will not have any episodes of the 5 Kage Summit, that will start on box set 16.

While some people may not enjoy filler episodes I've never had a problem with them, the episodes give time for the animators to draw up the story episodes and give the manga writers more time for new chapters to the series so it's a good mix for both the anime and manga fans. The set deals primarily with Naruto and friends before his three year journey with Jariya as well see Naruto team up with either Sasuke and Sakura or with the other teams(10/9/8) or even with some of the Chunin of the Leaf Village with some mostly hilarious missions and a few serious ones. Again while the episodes aren't part of the manga it gives you more storytime to connect with the characters and helps endear them to you more so you actually care more on what happens to them in the series overall.

So while fans wait for the next box set to continue the Shippuden manga story arc we have an enjoyable filler set to entertain fans until then.

Naruto set 15 is not really about the main story but for those who like fillers there are some great one's.
Like if you're a Gaara fan theirs one for you, or a few with Kakashi or Sasuke. If you like fillers then you'll love these. You can watch these till set 16 arrives. They're actually really good.

I have purchased every collection or box set since the beginning of Naruto and am currently working on getting all of the Shippuden sets. I happen to enjoy the back story to explain things we may have forgotten due to time between the very beginning and now in Shippuden. I plan on purchasing set 16 as soon as I can!

Not just filler. While the Leaf Village is being rebuilt, genin and jonin-sensei reminisce past events that were not completely revealed in the first series. Someone told me that to really get the most out of Naruto: Shippuden, one must start from the very beginning with episode one (eng dub) then patiently move through each episode without skipping over or rushing through any episodes that follow. That persons advice was well received. Having watched attentively every episode in order, Box Set 1 through 14, Episodes 1-179, I thoroughly enjoyed the way Box Set 15 played out (Episodes 180 - 192). I give this series a five star two thumbs up ovation for being arguably the BEST anime series to-date!!!!! "Believe it" - Naruto
