3.0 out of 5 stars Was excited, slightly dissappointed. March 11, 2013

This review will be based heavily from Ninja Storm 2.

I have just about finished the game. I just finished the final battle excluding the fragment chapter.

As others have said, the game starts out very exciting and takes you all the way back to the 9 tails attack on konoha with an exciting battle between with minato and sarutobi. Again, as others have stated its mostly downhill from there. Some of the key battles are short and just not very prominent in the game as they were in the series. For example, the sasuke, danzo fight. Even the Sasuke Naruto fight. Outside of that I was slightly dissappointed at how much of the game is made up of cut scenes. It makes sense being that there is a lot of story to cover in such a short game but there is a LOT of cutscenes. I'm up to date on the naruto anime, and this is like rewatching every episode in a shortened form. I bought the game so that I could play the series not watch it again. Be prepared for 6 back to back scenes. Back to the high note. The playable character list is awesome, almost everybody will find their favorite character added to the roster. Yes there were a few big ones left out but I dont find that to be that bothersome. Personally I've been waiting for Haku to come into a game. Along with Zabuza and its just awesome. Really excited to get into free battles and online battles just to play as them. But back to the low notes, Ninja storm 2 was a fairly awesome game and the achievement/Trophy system really helped because it gave you a lot of extra things to do in the game that would otherwise be pushed aside. In Ninja Storm 3 the achievement/trophy system seems partially ignored.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Purchase fighting game purchase June 30, 2014

This is obviously targeted at Naruto fanbase, but it's a solid standalone title in the fighting genre as well. There's a great selection of diverse characters and modes to keep you entertained for a while (as far as fighting games go). If you are a Naruto fan, you should enjoy this - if you're not, it should still be pretty fun unless you are not a fan of fantasy-style action.

3.0 out of 5 stars My full review (updated) March 5, 2013
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
I'm basing this review off of beating the main story, a couple hundred online matches and also several hours in the `post campaign' of the game. So I have indeed spent a lot of time playing this game.

The game is, in my opinion, undoubtedly the best of the three Namco Bandai Storm games available on the Xbox 360. That said, to be frank, the bar set by Storm 2 and Generations wasn't too high to begin with but Storm 3 merits a look if you enjoyed the previous games.

The Main story mode is a bit of an anomaly as far as adventure games I've played before goes. In the interest of staying true to the anime/manga, the story mode has almost no exploration at all until you `beat the game.' That is to say, there's about zero side quests and such until after the final battle and credits are done.

The main quest is full of QTE's and normal combat but also add in mob battles and some battles against large scale enemies such as the nine tails and other tailed beasts. The QTE's are basically what you would expect them to be, nothing special, and the mob battles, although a welcome addition, are also pretty mediocre and easy. The special battles that are neither QTE's or normal combat are pretty neat but they can be frustrating since AI pattern's and the perspective can be unclear as to what should or shouldn't be harming you or how exactly you are supposed to avoid harm. Also, these special battles seem to get worse over the course of the game, meaning that the designers or whoever just didn't put in the same effort in the last battles as they did in the first. The first battle against the nine tails for instance stands alone amongst many other battles where repeated attack animations and lazy design make them tedious.

4.0 out of 5 stars BADASS GAME March 10, 2013
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Verified Purchase
Pretty damn awesome. Alot of the fighting features are derived from the previous naruto games such as ninja generations but its still pretty good. The story mode is cutting edge.....especially the interactive cut scenes.

PROS: All tailed beasts are available to do damage. Madara and Tobi both are both available as well as nagato which is pretty badass. The new characters alone with the extremely touching story mode makes it worth getting for shippuden FANS

CONS: If your not a fan of naruto and dont already know the story for the most part then your gonna get lost and confused in a few aspects. Ive only played the game for two days but so far i see no sign of being able to use the 7 swordsmen of the mist apart from zabuza as well as the brothers from the hidden cloud that had the nine tails flower and got stored in the pot......................those are amazing characters to have and yet we dont.................

OVERALL: I like the game alot.....but im also a naruto fan.........word of advice........if your trying to play this without even being a naruto fan then prepared to be confused a bit since ur not familiar with the character development that this game has decided to use
