4.0 out of 5 stars don't write it off just yet...
Ok, so maybe this was a bit of an anticlimax following the huge cliff hanger at the end of volume three. However, loads of new characters are introduced in this volume which give rise to a whole new level of story telling and character development. There are currently 22 volumes of naruto waiting to be translated into English and this volume sets the stage for what is...

2.0 out of 5 stars doggies? get out.
Death of a friend, breaking of a seal, final confrontation...here it comes, the final showdown!!!! Dogs? Ninja Dogs? Come on. After all that build up, you give us ninja dogs? It's like listening to a joke you know that's going to be good. You are sitting there waiting for the punchline, and you are ready to clutch your stomach because it's going to be a belly laugh. Then...

5.0 out of 5 stars The story of the Demon Zabuza and Haku, December 16, 2004
This review is from: Naruto, Vol. 4: The Next Level (Paperback)
"Naruto vol. 4" continues the fierce battle begun in vol. 3, against the ninja-hunting Demon Zabuza and his deadly assistant Haku. The stage is set with Sasuke slain, Kakashi literally mystified and Sakura learning her own limitations. As everyone knows, when things look darkest for a band of heroes...it is time for a little payback.

Payback is what you get in vol. 4, but not exactly in the way expected. Naruto, full of rage over his friends death, unleashes the power of the Nine-tailed Fox demon. Kakashi shows that he is more than the Sharingan Eye, using an innovative attack to overcome the loss of vision. Sasuke lies on the ground dead, and there is lots of weeping.

The real story, however, is the love and loyalty between Zabuza and Haku. Compared to this, the trials of the four heroes are trivial. Haku sees himself as a weapon to be wielded by Zabuza, and the true test of his loyalty comes when Zabuza's feelings are made clear. Its some powerful, emotional stuff.

Along with the conclusion of this story arc, vol. 4 also sets up the next adventure for the Naruto gang. This time, they head home to face the challenge of the examinations for chunin, the next level of Ninja. Several groups of older kids come into town to face the examinations, and run foul with Naruto and friends. Cue the music and start the fights!

5.0 out of 5 stars It just gets better, November 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Naruto, Vol. 4: The Next Level (Paperback)
At first, I was hesitant to get into Naruto. It just seemed like a stupid anime/manga that was trying to be Dragon Ball Z. However, with some prodding from my friends to watch it, I instead bought the manga and checked it out. I was blown away by how fun of a read it was, the great artwork and the great story. The end came too soon for me and I started buying more and more Naruto. Currently, I just finishes Naruto Vol 7 and am about to go out and buy Vol 8.
Volume 4 carries a great story and a heavy choice for Naruto and friends as they come to the realization that ninjas are just tools. Tools for killing. The double team of Haku and Zabuza proves to be quite a match for Team Kakashi and was so enthralling to read. Seeing the Black Ops Dogs in action for the first time was too cool!
If you are looking for a good comic to read. Choose Naruto. It's cheap. It's fun. And it might be one of the best mangas our there. Don't be the only guy or girl out there who hasn't read or watched Naruto. Life will suck.

This volume is awesome.
It picks up where Vol. 3 left off, with Sasuke dead, mid-battle with Zabuza and Haku.

This whole volume is just...great. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down.

4.0 out of 5 stars naruto, May 19, 2011

naruto review

The Naruto book is very interesting it has a lot of actions'like a movie. The book is so entertaining because there is a lot of action like naruto using his ninja skills and punches Haku and Zabuza. Saskue is out cold on the ground. Kakashi is naruto's teacher and saskue, sakura's too and they are all a team of the Hidden leaf village.saskue almost died because he was getting hit with poison needles. I Recommended this to age twelve and
thirteen because it has a lot of Bloodly Grahpics.

4.0 out of 5 stars School of Hard Knocks, October 5, 2009
This review is from: Naruto, Vol. 4: The Next Level (Paperback)
In Vol. 4 of "Naruto," readers witness the destructive power of the Nine-Tailed Fox as Naruto continues to battle Zabuza and Haku. As Squad 7's adventure in the Land of Waves draws to a close, our heroes return home and sign up for the Chunin (journeyman ninja) selection exam to climb up the ranks. Unfortunately, so does every other ninja in the land. This is the first volume to feature Taijutsu expert Rock Lee, fearsome Sand Ninja Gaara, and other notable characters as seen in the anime show, which left out some rather interesting moments featured here. Creator Masashi Kishimoto also throws in some rejected manga concepts he dreamt up in his quest for fame and some fortune.

This manga is rated T for Teen: Graphic Violence.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Real Power of the Nine-Tails Demon, April 1, 2009
By
This review is from: Naruto, Vol. 4: The Next Level (Paperback)
Get ready to get pumped full of adrenaline. Naruto's power is unleashed when everything is on the line, taking this story to the next level! The battle becomes more intense when friends and foes defend those they love most. This volume also precludes the next intense storyline, the Chunin exams! This volume will not disappoint, prepare yourself!

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a Sad Part In the Series :'(, July 3, 2005
By
Icewolf (Oregon, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Naruto, Vol. 4: The Next Level (Paperback)
The climax in the battle with Haku and Zabuza, this might be the bloodiest book in the series so far...I guess. But it's so sad because such a cool character dies!! I don't wanna tell who though, because I don't wanna spoil it for anyone.
