Book Description

October 6, 2009
Naruto is a young shinobi with an incorrigible knack for mischief. He’s got a wild sense of humor, but Naruto is completely serious about his mission to be the world’s greatest ninja! R to L (Japanese Style). N/A Naruto is a ninja-in-training with a need for attention, a knack for mischief and, sealed within him, a strange, formidable power. His antics amuse his instructor Kakashi and irritate his teammates, intense Sasuke and witty Sakura, but Naruto is serious about becoming the greatest ninja in the village of Konohagakure!

About the Author

Author/artist Masashi Kishimoto was born in 1974 in rural Okayama Prefecture, Japan. After spending time in art college, he won the Hop Step Award for new manga artists with his manga Karakuri ("Mechanism"). Kishimoto decided to base his next story on traditional Japanese culture. His first version of Naruto, drawn in 1997, was a one-shot story about fox spirits; his final version, which debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999, quickly became the most popular ninja manga in Japan.

5.0 out of 5 stars A High Point in the Series, October 7, 2009

This review is from: Naruto, Vol. 46: Naruto Returns (Paperback)
Naruto 46 contains Naruto Chapters 423-432, that appeared in the monthly Shonen Jump #77-79 (5, 6, 7, May, June, July, 2009 volumes). Simply put it starts off at an extremely high point (the fight between Kakashi, Choza, and Choji versus Pain), and the other portions of the Pain Invasion into Konoha storyline.

For this volume it continues with another double take on having one of the series most emotional events take place which I wont spoil. It makes the story even more riveting and begs us to beg VIZ to hurry up and release the next volume. The action is also on a high point in this volume in which we get to see several amazing techniques with the Sage Mode, Pain's amazing 'Almighty Push" and his "Summoning Jutsu", as well as the Rasengan and the Rasen-Shuriken. Ultimately, fans wishing for more action with Naruto are about to get their wish with the way in which this volumes ends leading to more fighting in the next one that will get even better and on a more epic level.

Chapters:
423: Tendo's Ability
424: Determination
425: Hatake Kakashi!
426: Naruto & Konoha
427: Reunion
428: Discourse
429: Know Pain
430: Naruto Returns!!
431: Naruto's Magnificent Explosion
432: Return of the Rasen-Shuriken!!

Essentially it is quite a few Naruto chapters, but, I always crave more Naruto! This is definitely one to get if you have been following the storyline, if you want to jump into it, I would suggest starting at Volume 45 before jumping into this one because it starts off in the middle of all of the action. Ultimately one should start at Volume 28, if they want the full "Naruto Shippuden Experience."

Artwise it is excellent, an excellent English translation, ie, it actually sounds smooth. The only thing I cant get is the way in which they word the jutsu's (which differs from the show) and the "art of summoning" wording.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book for Reluctant Readers!!, November 23, 2009
This review is from: Naruto, Vol. 46: Naruto Returns (Paperback)
My son enjoys reading all of the Naruto volumes. I will continue to purchase them, as long as it keeps him reading!! :)The graphics in this novel help keep his attention and focus on reading the book, instead of him refocusing on a more visually appealing idea. Great book for Naruto fans and reluctant readers alike!!
