About the Author

Author/artist Masashi Kishimoto was born in 1974 in rural Okayama Prefecture, Japan. After spending time in art college, he won the Hop Step Award for new manga artists with his manga Karakuri (Mechanism). Kishimoto decided to base his next story on traditional Japanese culture. 5.0 out of 5 stars Best one yet, December 30, 2011
This review is from: Naruto, Vol. 53 (Paperback)
*Spoiler* In this volume of Naruto we find the main protagonist Naruto in training with Killer Bee to leran how to control his Biju at the "Waterfall of Truth". During his struggles with his nine-tail fox demon a mysterious women shows up and claims to be his mother. As the story progresses The women named Kushina reveals Naruto's past in the most detailed, accruate, vivid way I have ever read. This volume is a "question solver". Naruto volume 53 is a great read and I highly recommend it to any Naruto fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Naruto Volume 53: A Parents' Love and Sacrifice, February 21, 2012
This review is from: Naruto, Vol. 53 (Paperback)
Naruto volume 53 is one of the most notable/memorable of the series, simply because it's just that good of a read. As you see in the cover, you learn the back-story of Naruto Uzumaki's birth and parents, as well as the formidable foe that results to their premature demise. I definitely recommend this volume especially if you are an avid fan of Naruto or if your just looking for an enjoyable manga read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mainly a Flashback Story, But Still a Good One, January 5, 2012
This review is from: Naruto, Vol. 53 (Paperback)
I wont spoil much, but as the cover implies, it is mostly about Naruto's parents. Present timeline is hardly covered in this volume, except for the first few chapters.

There is one fight here that is quite interesting and cool though, between... well, just buy it and you will see. The art is still very good, just as any Naruto manga.

As to why only 4 stars, this volume is a tad slower in pacing; and as I said, its mostly flashbacks, which hardly pushes the story forward. It just gaps some holes, though longer than it should.
