5.0 out of 5 stars Much better than a netti pot.
This is a great product. It compares well with electric powered devices and is one fifth the price. It compares very favorably with the traditional netti pot, since it does not require unnatural tilting of the head; it creates a more powerful stream since it is not limited to gravity power; outflow water will not flow onto clothing since the users head can easily lean...

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap 60ml feed store syringe with bulb tip added
This is available on amazon (without the silicone tip) in pet supplies as a cheap monoject 60ml syringe for use as an animal feeder or in the medical section for catheter bags. I'm definitely not suggesting you buy it though unless you have a motherless animal to feed. I give this product one star for actual usefulness but five stars for creativity in repurposing feed...

This is a great product. It compares well with electric powered devices and is one fifth the price. It compares very favorably with the traditional netti pot, since it does not require unnatural tilting of the head; it creates a more powerful stream since it is not limited to gravity power; outflow water will not flow onto clothing since the users head can easily lean over the sink.

It is important when using this product to keep the mouth open and say ahhh to avoid putting pressure on the ears.

I use this product regularly since I purchased it. This product is the best value for the money.

Found this product excellent--easy to use and clean. Only drawback is that instructions say it has a limited life of a few months and should be replaced.

I was really afraid that it would feel like drowning to put water in your nose like this but I just relaxed and trusted the directions and it worked EXACTLY the way it was supposed to.

5.0 out of 5 stars My cure for allergies and dizziness, January 1, 2010
This review is from: Nasaline Nasal Rinsing System (Health and Beauty)
I purchased this product and was thoroughly amazed!! Last Fall and throughout Spring, I began to develop dizziness which I could not understand. I went to an ENT who could not find the cause of my dizziness. I also had an MRI/Cat Scan done which proved negative to rule out any other issues. I began using this product in November 2009, and I believe my dizziness is related to my seasonal allergies!! When I began using it, I could feel so much relief immediately, then my dizziness went away!! I use this product at least 2-3 times a week, or when I begin to feel dizzy. It takes away my dizziness and it beats paying for those doctor's bills! It is really refreshing once you get used to it. Just start slow, then it will be easy. Relief is on the way! I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Life Saver, May 1, 2009

This thing really does work. Once you get over the initial weirdness of forcing fluid up your nostril, it can really be a life saver. Once I feel like I might be developing a sore throat or sinus irritation, I use the nasaline and it helps incredibly. During sick times, I generally use it 2 or so times per day. It is especially good at night because it gives some initial pain relief to help fall asleep.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap 60ml feed store syringe with bulb tip added, November 7, 2011
This review is from: Nasaline Nasal Rinsing System (Health and Beauty)
This is available on amazon (without the silicone tip) in pet supplies as a cheap monoject 60ml syringe for use as an animal feeder or in the medical section for catheter bags. I'm definitely not suggesting you buy it though unless you have a motherless animal to feed. I give this product one star for actual usefulness but five stars for creativity in repurposing feed store syringes for great financial profits. (I'm looking with new eyes at my front yard hose!)

The inventors appear to have simply added the silicone tip and patented it. But is using farm equipment/catheter/industrial type syringes with an added human friendly tip a good idea to flush an area of your body that might be filled with dangerous bacteria like staph and is right next to your brain, ears, eyes and teeth? It's a personal choice - but I suggest comparing this product to other methods.

Neti pots that use gravity to gently clean your sinuses might be safer because they don't hurt you if your sinuses are clogged and you try to use it. The water simply will not go through and it's not possible to force it through (possibly causing harm to your ears) with a plunger like this product. There is a reason that neti pots have been used safely for thousands of years (Himalayan Institute Ceramic Neti Pot). Also, electric motor driven irrigators control the water flow at a safe level (SinuPulse Elite Advanced Nasal Sinus Irrigation System). More pressure is not better when it comes to your sinuses. Be gentle with your body and healing will come.

However, if you decide you must use this please be very, very careful of the force you use. Don't get in a hurry and push too hard. And once the plunger starts getting hard to push after a few months, you might accidentally do this - so make yourself slow down.

Apply extra caution before using this on children. How will you know if they have a blocked nasal passage that makes using this product possibly unsafe? Instead, teach them the habit of gentle gravity-only sinus cleaning as part of daily hygiene like washing the face or brushing the teeth.

In closing I would like to offer a healing recipe I use with gentle gravity sinus irrigation:

1 cup comfortably warm filtered water or distilled water
1 tsp Xylitol (helps remove mucus and decreases bacteria) Emerald Forest Xylitol, 16-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 6)
1/2 tsp non-iodine salt
pinch baking soda
2 drops GSE (fights bacteria, viruses and fungus) Nutribiotic - Nutribiotic - Gse Liquid Concentrate, 4 fl oz liquid
3 TBSP Alkalol (herbal mucus remover and decongestant) Alkalol - A Natural Soothing Nasal Wash, Mucus Solvent and Cleaner Kit - with Cup, 16-Ounce

Make this fresh each time you use it since it contains no preservatives. The alkalol can be increased in this recipe or even used full strength.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product that only lasts 4-6 months, but can be easily fixed, May 25, 2011

Like others have said this is a great product that does an excellent job of cleaning your sinuses. It works well, is small and easy to travel with, and doesn't cost much. I've been using it every day for about a year and have noticed a significant difference in how well I breathe and how often I get sick.

The one problem with Nasaline is that with daily use, it only lasts about 4-6 months. After that time the plunger becomes so hard to move that you really can't use it anymore. But the secret is that there's an easy, cheap fix to this.

If you look on the Nasaline syringe you'll notice that it says "Monoject" on the side. Monoject is a company that makes medical supplies, including these exact syringes. Rather than buying a new Nasaline unit every 4-6 months, you can buy the Monoject syringes very cheap from any medical supply site, pull the bulb off the end of the Nasaline unit, and attach it to the Monoject syringes. Since these syringes are identical to those used by the Nasaline unit, they work perfectly. The specific Monoject syringe you want is a 60mL catheter-tip syringe, part number 8881560141.

So overall this is a great product that works well but doesn't last too long. Luckily the replacement parts are cheap :)

Makes for less mess and frustration by using this nasal irrigation system. It seems to take less time as well. I use this alot more than I used my neti pot!
