To start with, I am a person who had to have a really really expensive (very risky) surgery for a sinus issue. This nasal rinse system is fantastic. I used it after my surgery because I like how you regulate the pressure of the water through your nose. For starters, I prefer having to "place" the end of this nasal flusher gently to the nostril so it forms a complete gentle fit versus having to put the end of a ceramic neti pot spout up into the nostril to get the same seal/fit. If it is gently placed, there is no "closing" of the top as talked about in other reviews. I can see where you would want to apply pressure like that after using the ceramic neti pot, because you do have to have some minor pressure to fit the ceramic pot spout up into the nostril. However, that pressure is just not needed with this washer.

My 7 and 9 year old were able to have complete success within 2 tries of using the nasopure system for the first time and faithfully use it daily either in the shower or over the sink. I am a former ceramic neti pot user and find this system so much more relaxing to use with better results. For the person who wrote about getting water down the back of their throat...not sure how that only happens with just this product. The "k" sound needed to close the throat off while using a neti pot is the same action used for this product. Guessing if it happens with this, probably is happening with the neti pot as well?

Also, there is no need to "have to" buy their saline packets as someone mentioned. The packets are there as a matter of convenience and a choice option. As a matter of fact all mine are still in a drawer for travel situations. I continue to use the very economical pharma grade salt you can purchase in bulk and mix my own solution.

I'm no doctor this is just my feedback.

I was given a sample original blue Neti Pot made by NeilMed NeilMed Sinus Rinse - 2 Bottles - 250 Premixed Packets - Value Pack by my allergist. I often go in every 2 months (have to take time off from work), sick, clammy, runny nose, bronchitis, red sinus cavity, ear canal, and super red sore throat along with non-stop coughing all due to sinusitis' post nasal drip. I immediately felt a slight difference using an isotonic solution.

Kept using the sample for 2 weeks and did on online search and found this. I like that I can make a bottle of this a week ahead and not making a new solution every time I use the original neti. I like the convenience, and it's more sanitary than the original neti-pot. The original neti-pot can go both ways with the water (eww!); like back washing!!! If you use the Nasopure right, you push water out one way. The salt/bi-carbonate stick that came along is more expensive than NeilMeds so I use NeilMeds salt/bi-carbonate solution instead. It works fine for me filling the salt and then, the water in.

Would like them to partner with Vapur and make a collapsible one; although, the travel size 8oz. is fine, too. I don't use the oils that some are selling b/c my nose is super sensitive. I just want to keep it simple and Ph correctly. Knocking on wood, but so far I haven't had an allergy/cold/sinus episode. Not having to return to the Dr's office for heavy antihistamine and antibiotics is sweet!!!

I tried both in the shower. For me, its just preference blowing my nose on a tissue rather than on me (+making sure I wash the goo off). Yuck!

Initially, I thought this would be easier to use than my Neti Pot and provide more convenience. I figured I would be able to use it in the shower, no bending my neck and so on, as promoted by the inventor. However, after using both, I actually prefer the Neti Pot!

It is way easier to add salt to the Neti pot. On the other hand, it is almost mandatory to purchase the specifically designed packets of salt (an extra expense) that fit narrow opening of the Nasopure bottle. Whereas, Neti pots provide a wide opening to add plain old sea salt, done. I also get a better nostril seal with a Neti Pot, as oppose to the Nasopure. Finally, when rinsing with the Nasopure if one put to much pressure on the valve it will close, and that sucks.

This bottle makes washing your sinuses so easy! I use it in the shower. Even if not in the shower, because of the bottle design, you can use it over the sink with minimal spillage outside the sink (if at all!). Cudos on the bottle design! Wash your nose!

As someone who has used a Neti pot for a long time, I was skeptical about this product. I liked the idea of not having to bend my neck. But this product has too many problems for me to continue using it.

The biggest difference between a Neti pot and Nasopure is the method of irrigation. When using a Neti pot, gravity works in your favor. Nasopure works by applying pressure to the bottle to force water up the nose. Too often I had water coming down the back of my throat. While it was convienent to have a bottle that closes and one you can shake to dissolve the salt, it wasn't worth the added effort of applying pressure to the bottle constantly.

Furthermore, as the water runs out, you force air into your nose. This makes for a very unpleasant experience.

The product is innovative, but does not really provide any real benefit over a neti pot.
