It's funny how time affects one's opinion. In the case of this cd, it has really done a good job of convincing me that it's a truely good cd. In my last review I made some stupid remarks, I really stuck my foot in my BIG mouth, i do that a lot.I mentioned in my last review of this cd, that I thought she improvised too much, what a stupid fool I was. I wrote that before I truly understood what jazz was, and thanks to Beegie, I now finally GET IT. Now the main reason I listen to this is for the improviastions and the exciting strays away from the melody. I now understand any BOZO easy listening pianist can play songs staright, but what makes Beegie so special is her swinging improvisations. The most exciting parts of this cd are when Beegie improvises and strays from the melody! I wish I could erase my last review, I could hit myself over the head for that. I also remarked that she didn't know the proper time to improvise, I knew NOTHING of jazz back then, Beegie's timing is perfect, and she knows EXACTLY when to improvise, I wouldn't change a not on this cd. But who really cares about my dumb opinions anyway right? Well i love thsi cd anyway, it's a jazz classic, and truly a tribute to the King, Nat that is! Can I recomend this cd?

It will hook you like a chocolate bar and become that which you crave....We can't think of a more satisfying recording for placing us in the piano bar at Boscobel Beach , Jamaica than this. Beegie Adair treats the songs as if she composed them and her interpretation is smooth and powerful.

Absolutely LOVE this cd, but I wish she had a cd with Christmas songs! Does anybody know of one? I hope someone will convince her to produce a Holiday album!

It's funny how time affects one's opinion. In the case of this cd, it has really done a good job of convincing me that it's a truely good cd. I think if it had included some more of Nats' singntuare songs like "Nature Boy', "Stardust"and of course "For Sentimental Reasons" that I would have had no choice, but to put it in the great catageory. It's that close to greatness. For this project Beegie did a brilliant job of putting the pieces of the puzzle together. It's so nice, how everything fits together. BRAVO! Beegie. The only concern I have for this project is the improvising and how it was used in these performances. It appears that Beegie choose to improvise at inapporiate times. You are aware that there is a right time to do these things and perhaps a wrong time also. I seems that the later was used. Mistake, mistake! Since this cd, I have added all of Beegies' product to my collection. I am real proud to know of Beegie and her music. I am anxiously waitng more beautiful cds from Beegie. I ask that everyone give Beegie a chance to win you over as her fan.

Beegie Adair is BEST when she sticks to a trio and performs
the not-so-familiar tunes. This is a fine cd for chat background, party or comme ci/comme ca. I'd like to hear Adair perform Kurt Weill. Few know him. This collection of mostly songs you don't know is swell. Adair's Cole Porter homage, "Dream Dancing," is also tops.

Wonderful! Wonderful! Nat King Cole has always been a favorite, and these are marvelous renditions of his best songs. Very interpretive, very sensitive, easy, easy listening.

This album sets just the right tone for a quiet dinner and good conversation with friends or for a more romantic evening. The gorgeous melodies, while familiar, seem fresh and alive. Lovely!

Beegie has such a light touch on the keys. Some jazz players seem to try to be too percussive on the keys, as if they don't trust the rhythm section to keep the groove going. Beegie has a sensitivity to the melody that other players lack in my opinion. I highly recommend this CD. To the person who wanted to know about a Christmas CD, she does have one. I don't know why it isn't on here, but I think the record label has a website where you can get it...or just bug (...) to find it!

Unforgettable;Sweet Lorraine;Walking My Baby Back Home; Mona Lisa and all of the wonderful other songs bring back happy memories of my teenage years in the 50's. The great Beegie Adair is a superb jazz pianist who plays with such a light touch and with such fabulous improvisations along the way that I never tire of listening to her and always have one of her CD's playing in the car and another in the house. I must be getting close to having all of her CD's now and only regret that I have to send to the US to get her work as I seem to be the only person in Australia who knows of her.
