My class of first and second graders loves when I read "Nate the Great" books aloud. This CD allows them to listen to it themselves, and follow along in the book - great for a classroom listening center. The actor who reads aloud has the perfect voice for Nate, child detective.

The only problem is that the stories and their corresponding tracks are not explained. Each story takes 3 or 4 tracks to complete. I had to make a chart for the kids to follow : Nate the Great and the Phony Clue - tracks 1,2,3. Nate the Great and the Missing Key tracks 4,5,6,7,8. etc.

My 7 year old daughter loves nate the great books and cd's. My 5 year old listens to them with her in their room. Now that she has the CD's, however, she seldom reads the books (and she loves to read). She reads the other books, but not the ones on the CD's. So if you want you kids to "read" the books, then have them read them first and listen to these afterwards. Or, maybe listen to them in the car only.

This is the second of the Nate the Great audiobook series I've purchased and I'm really happy with it. My kids will sit and listen to the whole thing and the stories are great for the car. I wish they would make more of these series!
