I purchased this because I am a clutz. I spilled a glass of juice on my laptop, and the cost of repair was horrible. I work for hours at a time at the computer, and need to have something to drink, this bottle is perfect. It can fall over and not spill, it doesn't have to be lifted up like a glass does, because the straw draws the liquid from the bottom of the bottle, and it holds enough to keep it from having to be replenished too often. When I purchased it, I didn't know it didn't have to be lifted to drink , I thought it was like drinking from a spout, so that was a great plus for me.

This is a very high quality product, I would recommend it to anyone, far better than the cheap bottles I have tried.

I love the bottles, they're tough, thick and spill resistant. I use them for smoothies in the morning and the bottle is great. Build quality is fantastic, and Nathan includes 2 extra straws with each purchase.

I just bought my first nathan bottle for my almost 5 year-old. His 12 oz. thermos foogo bottles just wouldn't hold enough water for the 96 degree heat of soccer season. This bottle has been super. No bad smell, no leaks, tastes fine. I like the wide spout as it's easy to fill with ice. I've borrowed it to take to my stroller strides class, and I like that it fits in my cup holder and I can just flip up the straw to drink, without having to pick up the bottle at all! It does sweat a little, as do all plastic bottles. And it doesn't stay cold very long, which my son was quick to point out. I wish they would make it like the thermos double-walled vaccuum bottles that keep cold for many hours. I may try it with my BuiltNY neoprene sleeve to see if that helps at all. ALL straw bottles will spurt a little liquid if the pressure changes, including the thermos foogo ones. Nothing you can do about it except to unscrew the cap a little to release the pressure before flipping up the straw to drink. I have not had to do this with our bottle and it has never spurted water at us yet, but we haven't taken it up in the air or changed altitudes much. We're pleased with it overall.

After searching for the perfect water bottle, I bought two of these for myself and my husband. We both like the size, the spout, (though neither of us use the orange part that is removable), the extra straws, but the bottle is leaky through the straw, especially if you leave it in the car or change elevation. If you flip open the spout, you will have water spout out the top all over you. I just filled the bottle with slightly cold water, left the spout open sitting on a table and it has a big bubble of water sitting on the top of the spout just waiting to spill on me or the table.

Another issue is that when we first got the bottles, they had a really bad odor. I washed by hand, soaked, washed in dishwasher, nothing helped. I had to call the company. They said they didn't know anything about it, but that lemon juice might help. I tried the lemon juice several times and it finally helped. This seems like too much trouble from a brand new product.

I bought this to replace a friends, which I had broken. I broke it by dropping it about 3 ft. on carpeted floor with it about half full o fluid. The top is great, and besides durability problems, my friend loved it.

I love this bottle!! It's the only one I use now. What I love about it (besides the 3 straws that come with it) is it doesn't absorb odors of previous liquid that was in it. I change different drinks in it all the time and not once has it kept the odor of what was just in it like other plastic bottles - just a quick wash and fill it up! I used to use stainless steel bottles but couldn't find one that holds as much liquid as I would like but the Nathan does! I put ice in then juice or water and crocheted a cover for it so I'm not holding a wet bottle and I'm good to go! I also love the finger handle that makes it so easy to carry. I highly recommend the Nathan bottle!

I'm up to three of them now - one for home, one for work and one for just in case. I don't like the bite straw bottles and have been looking for a substitute. I bought one of these on a whim and am glad I did. The flip top is pretty easy to use (any easier and it would flip by accident) and keeps the water in when you are carrying it around. The hook makes it easy to attach to a bag/beltloop/backpack, etc. I've dropped one a few times (and my cat likes to knock it off my desk) and no sign of cracks or breaks yet. The best thing? They come with extra straws. If you are like me and loose things all the time, you'll love that feature to.

I bought this BPA free bottle along with 5 other stainless steel Nathan bottles. I like the stainless steel best but the BPA free plastic are great as well. My only issue is that, as others have reported, there is sometimes a small drip that can spill after closing the top. I can live with that and am careful to close the bottle correctly and it seems not to happen. Otherwise it is leak proof. The straw convenience is the best. My whole family (wife and several kids) always use these bottles. Love that we are not contributing the ocean's "dead zone" of plastic accumulation and we can always have our cheap reverse osmosis water with us (saving tons of money, increasing health, and optimizing environmental friendliness). Check out the stainless steel patterns- they are cool and we bought a bunch of those as well.

We have used the Nathan bottles before, and loved the features. Now that we have these in the BPA-free plastic they are even better! Much lighter than the metal version and I feel like I know every nook and cranny is clean because I can see through it. I ordered two and will come back for more.
