More About the Author

Lochlainn Seabrook is an unreconstructed Southern author of over thirty adult books, with a twenty-five year background in the fields of the American Civil War, anthropology, the paranormal, etymology, comparative mythology and religion, and thealogy (female-based religion). The grandson of an Appalachian coal-mining family, Mr. Seabrook is a seventh generation Kentuckian and the sixth great-grandson of the Earl of Oxford. Sometimes referred to as the "American Robert Graves" (after the prolific English writer, poet, and author), Mr. Seabrook's literary works have been endorsed by leading authorities, bestselling authors, celebrities, noted scientists, esteemed Southern organizations, and well respected academicians from around the world. He is cousins with Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, Johnny Cash, the Judds, Miley Cyrus, and Lee Ann Womack, and lives with his wife and family in historic Middle Tennessee.

I enjoyed this and due to it being well written have purchased several others from same author. I didn't give it 5 stars because I was hoping for a little more on NBF but still very informative.
I was born and raised in Southern California and am in my mid 40's now. I recently moved to Chapel Hill, TN (3 years ago) and love the south. Coming from the west we are taught so much hatred and negativity from an early age about southerners. It is funny that the more people I met from TN the more I wanted to move there. Now that I am here and have traveled quite a bit through the south I know how ignorant people truly are to the actual south. I was raised where the color of your skin did not matter as I was a white minority on my football teams in neighborhoods and with friends and they were all taught the same thing. The majority of the people here are kind hearted and very hospitable to everyone.
I found after I moved here that NBF's boyhood home is only a couple blocks from mine. Just wanting to know a little more about a General who changed the way wars are played out.
I recommend reading all of Seabrook's books he gives proof of what he is writing about in each one. Refreshing to be taught in my 40's what I should have been 30 years ago.....the truth.
Thanks Mr. Seabrook

Very good as are most of Lochlain Seabrook's writings. He does well showing the 'other side' of the story from the standard history 'pumped' into us in our educational system

Again, as with "A Rebel Born - A Defense of Nathan Bedford Forrest", "N B Forrest: Southern Hero, American Patriot" is much more a book about how much the author despises Abraham Lincoln than it is about Gen Forrest. If you are interested in learning about Forrest without all the Lincoln hating I recommend "That Devil Forrest" by John Allan Wyeth (first published in 1899) or "Nathan Bedford Forrest - a Biography" by Jack Hurst 1993. There are several other books available that focus on the General instead of harping on the faults of the Union side and Lincoln.
