I have used this for several long runs now (+15 miles)

Before, I have used a Mountain Smith waist pack, but it was clumsy and akward. It was made more for the camper/hiker not for the runner

The Nathan Trail mix as minimal bounce and stays put when worn low on my waist. It has a thiner profile, compared to the MS waist pack.

The bottle nozzles are a soft rubber-y material, and are comfortable to operate by mouth.

The bottles have never fallen out. The zippered pocket holds my 6oz flask of energy gel plus a power bar (small size).

Mesh pocket holds a blinkie-light (my long runs start in the dark) and 1/2 of an additional power bar.

I love the 2 bungie cords on the sides (genious). One side holds my ipod (very secure when encased in a zip-lock baggie). The other side holds a hankerchief (or could hold gloves or arm-warmers or extra socks).

I think the two 10oz flasks provide enough water for running up to 3 hours. I have ran out of water before when going over 3 hours. So a runner should plan on refilling them at a water fountain or water station(when racing).

I very glad i took my time in reviewing many hydration belts. I'm confident i choose the best for my needs.

one note: on my first run with it, while reaching in the zippered pocket, I hit the bottle nozzle with the buttons on my watch and it stopped my timer. So, be aware of that.

I'm training for a marathon, and this is my 3rd attempt at a hydration belt. I have tried others, inluding the Nathan triangle-shaped single bottle belt. This belt has the perfect-sized pocket for storing my cell phone, keys, and iPod. It doesn't bounce uncomfortably, and the bottles are easy to take out and put back in. Highly recommend it!

This is a really good product, but beware....I have a 32" waist and I have the belt fully extended...still snug! Also, the water bottle tops need to be pushed in VERY TIGHTLY or you will be soaked. The pocket is just the right size. I like the product a lot; I'm just not sure that anyone with a bigger waist will find it comfortable.

Trail Mix Belt, where have you been all of my life? Seriously, this is one of the greatest belts I have ever used. I have been through a half dozen of these before I found the Nathan offering. They usually get returned because they move all over the place while running. Nathan's design is flawless. It stays exactly where you want it to stay. The belt can be adjusted to fit any body shape. If there is any extra belt slack, the belt has a velcro wrap to secure the loose fabric.

The belt has two 10oz bottles of fluid. I wish the belts held larger bottles, but it's okay. The only time I use my belt is during training runs for marathons. The center pouch is big enough to store 14 GU energy gel packets or one 8oz water bottle - for sizing reference. There is also a front mesh pouch, where the Nathan logo is that allows other items. I usually put some moleskin, bandaids and an extra pair of socks in that part.

During a marathon, I will not run with this belt because there are aid stations every two miles. This belt was invaluable for me when I completed a 50K (31.06 miles) run in the woods of Arkansas. Aid stations are every six miles for the ultras. While they stock you up with food and fluids, you are on your own until you reach aid. I would suck all 20 ounces down between the stations and I had plenty of GU gels to keep me fueled up. The belt was worn for over 8 hours that day, and I forgot it was there half of the time.

The final part I love about the belt may be the best part. On the front of the belt, there are two bungee cords. These are there so you can secure items you don't want to wear any longer during your run. I was able to securely hold my gloves and beanie and keep going. The cords are big enough and tight enough to put an extra pair of my Vibram Five Fingers on my hips, should I need it. Definitely worth the investment!

I own two hydration belts, and one handheld bottle - all are nathan products. This belt is my favorite, I have had it for several years. I wear it on long runs, and during both full and half marathons. The only problem I have had is the need to grease the zipper. I think I have worn it SOO much and in rain alot, so the zipper starts to lock up from time to time. I have friends that have the same belt that velcros closed - no thanks - their belts slip and slide, this one you can sinch and it stays put. There is also enough room in the pocket for TP, and three or four gels/snacks, and the outside stretchy pocket holds a tube or two of chapstick. The little bungees on the side I use to hold gloves if i take them off, or gels. Love this belt. Side note - I do wear it on my true waist, not on my hips. Happy running!

I used my belt the first time at a 10K to see how it will be on longer runs. The great aspects of this belt are the big pocket you can fit lots of things and it is light. The down side is that I was unable to get it to stay in one place. I heard you have to either have it tight and low on the hips or high and tight around your smallest part of the waist. All and all it is a great belt. I just need to find out where to wear it!
