Product Description

We highly recommend keeping a training or exercise log. When used properly, a running log is both motivating and diagnostic. Use it to help plan race preparation and if, heaven forbid, you get injured along the way, it can help you isolate the cause and avoid similar setbacks in the future. Our best selling, non-dated, 52 week log comes with advice from Jeff Galloway, Bill Rogers and more.

Fairly small area to write in, but I write small and haven't had any issues. This does help to make the journal small though. There is one week per page marked M-F running vertically. The areas from left to right are; Date, Course, Time, Distance, Pulse, Weight, Notes/Comments. There is also a space at the bottom for totaling weekly time/distance, weekly average and year to date totals. The advice from different runners is general and takes up the first ten pages or so. I tossed those pages out so I could flip to my log without thumbing through the advice. For the money, you can't go wrong.

Although after 27 years you would think I shouldn't need a journal, it just isn't so. I tried this year to go without and my running suffered, as well as my waistline. The book is a classic. You can start on any day you want because you can fill in the dates, and also any day of the week. This probably sounds silly but you would be amazed how frustrating it is to use a log book that starts on Sunday if your week starts on Monday. Lots of good tips and extras. Lies flat on a spiral which is also great.

I've been using these training logs since 2008 (and for at least some of those years, I was a highly competitive athlete). I really like it. It's nice and compact, but there's enough room to write comments/pertinent info about each run. There's also space at the bottom of each page where you can write a summary of the training week if you so desire. I don't use all of the columns as they are intended (I don't track my weight or pulse), but it's nice having that space to use for other purposes (for example, in the pulse column, I use varying extremes of smiley/frowny faces to indicate how I felt during my workout that day, and in the weight column, I note the strength-training exercises I did. Because weights... get it??)

Anyway, this is a great little training log.

overall ok, but the space for the daily run is quite small, I find it difficult to fit in a summary of the run. What I like is the space for daily weight and pulse. Really allows you to track your stats and modify runs based on that. Good programme for increasing distance. I've been using it for the past few weeks

For those of us who prefer not to use electronics, this is the perfect pencil and paper way to keep track of distance/time etc. Very easy to use. This is the third year I've used Nathan's Log Book.

I've used this log since 2005 and it is just right for keeping info (you do have to print small to fit in useful notes). In addition to weekly info, it has space for races, injuries and graphs. It never crashes or gets a virus but you have t do your own math for weekly totals. (I've been cheating using my Garmin Training Center to tally the logs ;)

My big negative is in the last 2 years they have dropped one log page. Since most years don't start on a Monday and therefore you need more than 52 pages to make it thru the year, you come up short on the last week of the year. 2014 ran out on Dec 28th (a Sunday). So there was no page to enter Dec 29-31. Did they really save money deleting on page?? Grrrrrrr.

Absolutely the best running log on the market. I have run for many many years and I've used many different logs. This training log is perfect! With the book open you have the ability to look at two whole weeks and that's great....it gives you a chance to review what workouts you have coming up and what workouts you have done for the week! It's an awesome tool....as important as your running shoes ! You can plan, reflect and improve ....by writing down the details. If you're in need of a training log don't even think twice about it this is the one.

This is my go to training log. I can note all types of activity and extra information in it. I use it to spot trends in training, identify possible reasons for injury or improvement, and just to monitor consistency. The open format works well for multiple activities. For instance, in a typical day, I might do a functional strength class, run and swim, and I can list all activities with distance and time, with room for notes. There is also a place to track events in addition to the weekly pages.
