TECHNOLOGY: 4.5 stars

Loaded with usual suspects such as web browser (WAP/xHTML), messaging (SMS/MMS), sound recorder, Java, games, usual desktop applications (calculator, calendar, alarm, etc.). My phone came with 128MB SanDisk memory stick - which is plenty to get started.

LCD DISPLAY: 5 stars

176 x 220 pixels. Large, bright, crisp. Display more than 256k colors.

SIZE: 5 stars

Not too small, not too big or bulky. Just the right size/weight - fits into the palm easily (unlike some of the smart phones!)

PHOTO: 4 stars

2 Mega Pixel, auto-focus and zoom camera produces excellent indoor/outdoor 640x400 photos, the larger dimension photo (1632 x 1224) has grains so I dont bother using it. There is also a macro (close-up) mode and a small light for low light conditions.

AUDIO: 5 stars

I found the Walkman features better than the iTunes phone. Soudn quality (speaker or ear phone) is excellent. The stereo ear buds are cool (remove external noise) and can be replaced by your own head/earphone conveniently into the mic attachment. You can transfer all kinds of digital music, (I use MP3, incl. variable rate) using a computer. The software comes with a CD song transfer utility, but I dont use it. The browse buttons are simple and convenient to use (one you get used to them). One button pause and play!

VIDEO: 4 stars

The video quality is moderate, good for transferring small sized videos online. Internal phone software available to edit your video!

INTERFACE: 4.5 stars

Bluetooth, Infrared, Memory Stick Pro Duo, USB

All work great. The phone can be connected to a computer (I tried Windows XP) using Bluetooth, Infrared and USB. It instantly acts like a file manager, so you can transfer files either way. This is a great, with a big enough memory stick, you may not need to worry about carrying a USB/Jump drive.

SOFTWARE

Comes along with the phone, dont have to purchase it separately like the Motorola L7 SLVR.

Internal apps include MusciDJ, PhotoDJ, VideoDJ

..and oh yes about the PHONE features:

Quad band GSM world phone

1000 entry phone/address book

Multiple call logs

Right size buttons

Good sound quality, incl. speakerphone, earphone

Long enough standby and talktime

Call waiting, conferencing, mute, etc. standard features are all included.

There are a lot of pros with with phone, not many cons. However, what I would have additionally liked in this phone:

* Support for more popular (mini) SecureID card,

* Better quality video,

* Faster transfer when connected via USB port

Great Phone Bad Phone Co. January 9, 2007

Excellent phone. Good quality pictures and video. I love the music played on this phone. However, cingular customer service is poor. Rollover minute does not start until the second billing cycle (they arbiturary set it up so you can't accumulate the minutes on your first month).

WOW!!!!!! I came over from Verizon because cingulair has nicer cell phones.... the first thing I noticed was the really bad service. Att is not clear, sound is very distorted and you have to yell when you talk. I know it is not the phone because I tried another phone and it still sounded bad. So if you want superior service go with Verizon, I plan on going back after this crappy two year contract is up and over with.

The W810i is a nice phone though except for one thing.... the end call button is right next to the internet sign on button, so if you accidentally hit this button you will instantly be charged for going online..... tsk tsk tsk, I thought sony ericsson was better than this.
