From Library Journal
The first edition of this stunning book appeared in 1979 ( LJ 12/15/79) and featured superlative photographs of the museum's existing galleries accompanied by an excellent text and dramatic fold-outs, a marvelous re-creation of a visit to the museum, as well as an overview of the aerospace adventure. Since then, the museum has changed several galleries, and this new edition was produced with that fact in mind. The revised version now has 19 chapters, of which five are new ("Early Flight," "Golden Age of Flight," "Jet Aviation," "Looking at Earth," and "Stars"). The new material definitely meets the standards of the old version. If the library does not have the first edition, this one is certainly worth purchasing; otherwise, this is a very expensive book for only five new chapters.
