Bradley Evans bends over to inspect his blooms. Like many gardeners, he is--in his words--a plant freak. But unlike most of us, he's had the opportunity to plant some 50 varieties of rare plants from all over the world, among them banana, yucca, reblooming lilac, red-leaved redbud, elephant ear, and euphoria. "I challenge myself never to use the same specimens in the same way," says Evans, who uses plants the way a painter uses paint--to splash color and texture on his canvas of containers and landscapes.
