Book Description

March 20, 2012
It's one small step for birds, one giant leap for birdkind...

Blast off with the Angry Birds as they fly through space on an intergalactic rescue mission! Evil space piggies have stolen their eggs and are hiding them somewhere in outer space. To save them, the Angry Birds have teamed up with National Geographic to learn all they can about planets, moons, stars, galaxies, and the mysteries of the universe. Four chapters take the readers deeper and deeper into space—each one packed with Angry Birds, astounding space photography, and fascinating "Astrofacts" and "Space Data" features that surprise and enthrall. Join the birds as they observe robots on Mars, take a spin with the Jupiter's Great Red Spot, visit where stars are born in galaxies far, far away, and look for life on strange new worlds. This official companion book to the Angry Birds Space game shows the furious fliers everything they'll need to know on their quest to explore the galaxy and rescue their precious eggs.

The book is organized into four levels, each one taking the reader and the birds farther and farther into space:
Level One. "You Are Here: What's Out There?"
Level Two. "Short Flights: The Inner Solar System"
Level Three. "Longer Journey: The Outer Solar System"
Level Four. "Flying Farther: Deep Space"

5.0 out of 5 stars A space book w/ angry birds March 23, 2012
By A&D
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The stars and the outer space has always interested children and adults and now angry birds show and explain the mysteries of the space.

This book introduces space: what is a planet, what is a rocket ship, comets, comet clouds, etc.
Also it tells when a man was first time in a moon, what kind of suit he was wearing, and what are international space stations.

There is also a small glossary of all the space related words in this book and their meaning.

This is a great book for kids who are interested in space! It also has a list of solar and lunar eclipses of the past years.

This book has great illustrations of space and angry birds, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun book for kids! April 3, 2012
By bezoke
Format:Paperback
My 7 and 9 year olds love this book. They are big fans of the game and got a kick out of seeing the new characters. I appreciate that they actually learned real facts about space! We brought it along to dinner and while one played the game, the other read the book with me. The "astrofacts" are so much fun--who knew an 11 year old named Pluto or that a spacesuit weighs 250 pounds? Highly recommend this for families who like Angry Birds and space.

5.0 out of 5 stars ANGRY BIRDS teach eager young readers June 5, 2012
Format:Paperback
What an amazing duo- Angry Birds and National Geographic unite to make space science, technology, and history FUN. Out of Space- Quantum Gyro Fun and an educational experience.

REAL science photos (ultra colorful) with the Angry Birds characters overlayed- enough text to make it an Ultra-Out-of-Orbit learning experience- but short text enough to keep the 160 pages turning FAST- LIGHT SPEED FAST.

Level 1 (Chapter 1) You Are Here; What's out there?
Level 2 short Flights; the Inner Solar System
Level 3 Longer Journey; The Outer Solar System
Level 4 Flying Farther; Deep Space

Glossary, Appendix and more.
It's really a space science book but kids will re-read it like an ANGRY BIRDS game.
As a recently retired teacher, I'd strongly recommend this book for kids of all ages over 8.
