My 8 year old has read this book cover to cover, and the 4 and 6 year olds beg her to read bits to them while they are looking at the pictures. This is so chock full of cool things, even I got lost in it for an hour. Great book.

I still find books that my grandparents gave me over 1/2 century ago. My 7 year old grandaughter receives so many clothes and toys for birthdays and holidays that I really want to give her something special and different. She loves the book!!! She takes it with her all the time, and periodically pops up with facts she has learned. She is starting to read in 1st grade, and picks up more of the words every time. Her mind is challenged and it has been a great gift. Every day should be a learning experience, and this book creates a learning environment. I love it too. Fun to read and fun to share with her, and I am all about that. A definite keeper.

My 6 and 7 year old found this book very entertaining. I also enjoyed reading it. We checked it out from the library, but I think that it is such a good book that I am planning on purchasing the book.

Quite a cheery product, and well packaged, but on the very first quick read of this I found two very obvious factual errors. Which would not have been too bad, apart from they were on consecutive pages, and these were the first two I looked at. For a book that boasts of being full of facts and being carefully checked this was a bit of a disappointment. For those interested they're on pages 124 and 125. Julius Caesar is not a Roman Emperor, rather was a Dictator, and Mary Tudor was the daughter of Henry VIII, and was Queen of England, and somewhat older than 9 months when she became Queen. Mary Stuart was not the same person at all.

Too many large pictures that really state very lilttle. Book much too large and heavy for to be convenient. Most pictures appear to have been drawn by someone trying to be funny. Too junky

My son loves Weird But True, Guinness World Records, Tell Me Why, and similar types of books. This book is what it promises to be...just tons and tons of random, weird, and interesting facts. It's a large hardcover book, very sturdy, and very good quality. My son loves to just pick it up for a couple of minutes here and there, during some down time. It's not indexed or even intended to be a reference book of any sort, it's entertainment, and it serves its purpose wonderfully! Made for a great gift this year!

This book is awesome. But I was almost going to do 4 stars because the pictures are not that awesome, but this book is great for kids like me. It shows them what happens in real life and it is GREAT science information for them to learn. My rating is 4.5 stars total of 5.

I've given this book to my daughter and a few of her friends for their birthdays. The kids love to page through this book and read the weird facts. It keeps their interest whether they look for 5 minutes or an hour. The book is full of great photos! It's a nice alternative to a fiction book. They keep going back to this book over and over.
