I want more maps like this!, April 4, 2011
This map well exceeded my expectations upon arrival. I have yet to field test it travelling in the humidity and heat around Kilauea, but this is the best I have seen. Most my maps wear holes or at least to raw fiber in the most important places due to wear and especially moisture. The map is water resisitant so part of the battle is won. This material seems to have more "memory" so as to allow it to fold easily, Somthing that is a must if families are involved!
The overall focus on content is centered on the park, Pu'u O'o, and East rift. Shows alot of geographic context.
I wish I had more maps covering detail and is field ready like this one!

Alaska's Finest..., January 15, 2011
Denali National Park and the adjacent Denali State Park offer some of the most spectacular, and generally accessible, terrain in Alaska. National Geographic's "Denali National Park and Preserve-Alaska" map is an essential item for exploring it.
This topgraphic map is water resistant, flexible, easy to read, and easily transported in a pocket or rucksack. The map has two sides. One side shows the entire park, at a scale of 1:225,000. The other side shows the eastern portion of Denali National Park at a scale of 1:42,240, including the hiking trails most accessible to visitors, and Denali State Park, with its trail network on superbly situated Kesugi Ridge with its views into the Denali Front Range. The weather around Denali is wildly variable and visibility can be uncertain. Carrying a map and the means to navigate is a wise precaution.
Access to Denali National Park is limited by permit to the backcountry, and by bus ride to much of the eastern portion. The area nearest the entrance, including Mount Healy, can be hiked from the Visitor Center. Denali State Park can be accessed from several campgrounds and trailheads on the Parks Highway, which continues north to the National Park entrance.
"Denali National Park and Preserve-Alaska" is very highly recommended to those planning recreational activities inside either the national or the state park.

They keep sending the wrong map!, April 18, 2011
I ordered Olympic National Park and twice received Canyonlands instead, to add insult to injury, I am still waiting for my refund!
