The Earth Explorer Small Waist Pack (4474) is designed for carrying everyday personal gear along with a camera or camcorder. The bag features designated protective zones that safeguard the delicate equipment within. 1. Padded point-and-shoot flap pouch with external accessory pocket. 2. Personal gear and accessory pouch features double closing, zippered compartment and Velcro flap. 3. Flat external pockets for easy-access storage. 4. Rear zip pocket for securing valuables such as passport, wallet, etc. 5. The design incorporates the pouches as separate elements that are connected to the waist strap platform and this enables a perfect fit to the carrier's body shape. 6. Unique buckle closer provides ultimate security: * Make sure the strap with the snap closure is open. * Thread the male end of the metal buckle and strap through the wide opening of the female end. * Slide back through the female end and snap lock the strap to secure.

I got this Nat Geo "fanny pack" to keep all my photography tidbits in one place when out in the field. I've actually found it tucks nicely around the gizmo bag add-on I have on a massive Pelican case I tote my telescope in.

I actually bought this because I have several other Nat-Geo bags and love them all. I needed another small one to store things like USB cables, memory card cases, spare body caps, cleaning clothes in while on the road. Wearing it (yes, I'll admit to wearing it even though it's a fanny pack), it's comfortable and secure. The clasp on it is a metal thing that simply does not let go unless you intentionally intend to release it.

I travel light, and always carry a camera, documents and other stuff (who doesn't). I've owned several other waist packs from different brand names, and they always have one main storage area and few outer pockets/compartments. Everything got mixed after walking a couple of hours, money, camera, gum, passport, map, batteries and whatever else.

This one has two storage areas, one specifically PADDED for camera (NO NEED for a camera case) and other delicate stuff like iPod or whatever you can think of, and another for my stuff plus a rear zippered flat rectangular compartment perfect for travel documents, money and tickets. The inside of the main compartments is divided to keep things from flopping around as you walk. And has smaller outer pockets to keep camera batteries and SD cards handy.

And it looks great without being "too stylish", if you know what I mean. Will look good on jeans or shorts and a T-shirt as well as khakis and a shirt. Looks like it might keep things dry in light rain, I'm yet to find out.

I take it with me to all my trips, very spacious, comfortable and handy. I keep in it my camera, a small video camera, my cel phone, my wallet. Has a lot of compartments for all your objects safe-keeping. It leaves my hands and shoulders free. Very easy access to all compartments. I just love it!
