Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

A great accessory for business travelers, this National Geographic stainless steel men's analog/digital watch will be constantly accurate thanks to its atomic time updating features. It receives a time calibration signal transmitted via radio signals from Fort Collins, Colorado, which can be received by the antenna integrated into the watch's movement up to 2,000 miles away. It features automatic time setting, an automatic change to Daylight Savings Time (and vice versa), and perpetual date. The blue analog dial offers a full Arabic numeral display (in two alternating font sizes), luminous baton hands, and small minute indexes. A digital window sitting above 6 o'clock can display seconds, date, and time zone. This watch is matched to a handsome stainless steel bracelet band that mixes satin and polished finishes. Other features include a scratch-resistant mineral crystal and water resistance to 50 meters (165 feet)--suitable for swimming but not for diving.

1.0 out of 5 stars Atomic Stop Watch, April 24, 2010
This review is from: National Geographic Men's NG07GUBS Atomic Watch (Watch)
National Geographic Watch Model Number: NG-07G UBS Atomic

I purchased this watch for an anniversary gift. This watch is supposed to be very tough and adjust the time according to the time zone you're in. I'm in Alaska so the watch must be adjusted manually. My husband wore it once, and now it won't run. I had the battery replaced, but it still won't adjust the time and the hour hand shakes, then stops. I tried to find help for this problem at the National Geographic site. No luck, so I guess they don't service what they have made under their name. I wonder if other models have the same quality. I spent lots of money for a "stop" watch.

This review is from: National Geographic Men's NG07GUBS Atomic Watch (Watch)
First off... I got this watch after reading bad reviews, but took a risk and got it at a very cheap price (most likely was a resell of a store return). It actually is a great watch. It looks just like it is shown and is solidly built with good materials. The problem is it doesn't come with directions and there are no directions posted online. There are two buttons (one on each side). I experimented pressing and holding them in different ways. I discovered two different "modes," while doing this. One mode is plain and simple.... You need to set the hour and minute hand to 12:00 (mine was improperly set). The atomic time works perfectly, but for some reason the atomic clock needs to be told where the hour and minute hand are pointing. Once this is figured out... it is good to go until the battery dies. The other mode appeared to be a forced.... look for the atomic signal now and not later. It most likely updates atomic time once every few months to save power.

In short... if you like the watch... buy it, but only if you are the type of person who can fiddle with it and figure it out and not get easily frustrated. You will not find much support.
