This was a lucky find at a local bookstall few Sundays ago. Since this book was first published National Geographic has published much more brilliant works by the titles of WORK, In Focus, Through the Lens, etc.
This book, as the title aptly suggests, takes the reader to the past and then brings him to the present. In a sense, this book compares the photographs from the past era (say, from 1940s or 50s) to the present era of 1990s (this book was published long ago). I think this book is a great review of the best works from both era and the text which accompanies it is excellent, as expected.

The quality of prints is wonderful, the photografs are amazing. I have a lot of national Geographics' books and this is one of the best.
