This review is from: National Geographic TI00000745 Map Of Adirondack Park - New York (Office Product)
This thick-weighted paper map is weather-resistant and durable. The colors are vivid and elements are easily read. Besides the basics of roads, contours, lakes, mountains, etc., all trails are located by number, name and length in miles. The number is listed on a chart which informs you of its possible uses, including hiking, snowshoe, mountain biking, X-C skiing, equestrian and snowmobile.
There is a large solid Magnetic North Compass symbol. Waypoints are easily located with the latitude and longitude on the border of the map. The map is a UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) grid with map data of NAD (North American Datum) 27 for GPS use. Other features noted are campgrounds, tent sites, picnic areas, boat landings, fishing sites and fire towers among others. This map alone covers almost all of the western Adirondack Park and includes the wilderness areas of: Ha-de-ron-dah, Pigeon Lake, Pepperbox, Five Ponds Wilderness, Black River, Fulton Chain, Independence River, Watson East Triangle, Aldrich Pond, Cranberry Lake, and Horseshoe Lake Wild Forests, Lake Lila Primitive Area, Little Tupper Lake, Inlet, Star Lake, Lows Lake and Tupper Lake. |
