Big, Colorful Pictures, and very nicely organized. This book allows you to concentrate on one area and then allows you to concentrate on another locale or surrounding locations, making it extremely easy to create a travel itinerary. Maps are numbered to show places of interest and major roadways. It also gives you detail on the historical places or places of interest to see in an area. Unlike most travel books this book is not simply filled with restaurants and hotels, it has a brief but extremely informative history of the nation, which gives you a feel for the nation's culture. My husband got me this book for Christmas as we are planning a trip to Great Britain, and it has been a fabulous help in planning a vacation in an extremely short time.

if you've ever purchased a NG travel guide you know they're awesome. great pics. However, not as detailed as others with all the hotel costs, food prices, etc. Gave it to my father-in-law before their trip to europe and they love it.
