Disjointed, but Engaging,

I showed this video to my 7th grade science class and they were blown away. It's definitely not overflowing with educational tidbits, mainly because they talk about so many things in such a short movie. However, I showed the video following our unit on earth science, including a section on volcanoes. We took over a week to discuss the ins and outs of volcanoes.
I would never use this video to TEACH about volcanoes, but used after the students have learned about them, it's excellent. There was never a moment that they were bored, and EVERY student in the room had their eyes glued to the screen. I even found myself actively watching the movie over and over with each class period. EXCELLENT! |
