5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious! I could not stop laughing!
Oh my god. I thought I was going to die of laughter. The stuff that's in the book is actually true and I could not stop laughing at these sighns and newspaper articles that they had in there. (EX: A man gets killed by a bowling ball) You have to get this book. You can't stop laughing.

1.0 out of 5 stars TRUE FACT...this book is not worth the price of the postage...
Some items that I've bought have been disappointing but not to the extent where I would even consider posting a comment. There are two mostly unfunny b/w poorly reproduced photos on most pages. Regrettable purchase...

5.0 out of 5 stars The funniest book I have ever read, September 16, 2000
This review is from: National Lampoon Presents True Facts: the Big Book (Paperback)
I first came across this book on vacation in Florida in the summer of '97.I had just read a few pages and I was laughing uproarisly, people in the store were looking at me.I had to buy it.Now,three years later,I still split my sides laughing whenever I read this book. It's in the same vien as Jay Leno's 'Headlines', it deals with real life, unintentionally funny stuff. This book is surely proof that the truth is funnier than fiction.Anyone with a sense of humour should buy,and love, this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Totally Hilarious Collection, A Must Have, April 8, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: National Lampoon Presents True Facts: the Big Book (Paperback)
The first time I read this, I actually had to put the book down because I was laughing too hard. If you like Jay Leno's Headlines, then you'll love this. It's way better. All of the pictures and headlines are true, that's what makes it fun and the commentary by National Lampoon with each picture is just as funny. My favorite is the picture of the Sesame Street gang and the misprint in identifying one particular character. BUY THIS FOR A GUARANTEED LAUGH!

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll have a good laugh every time you open the book!, July 23, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: National Lampoon Presents True Facts: the Big Book (Paperback)
This book contains photos and other reproductions of media items that will give you a good laugh every time you open to one of its pages. Everything is from real-life and that makes it even funnier. After reading this book and keeping it handy to let my friends enjoy it too, I found myself looking around familiar surroundings in my life with a keener eye and spotting the same type of funny stuff that made the book hilarious . . . like a photo ad in the Sunday paper for fitness and exercise equipment, and smack dab in the middle is a photo of a lady seated in a massage chair. Hey, that's MY kind of exercise! You'll love the National Lampoon True Facts book and you'll love your new awareness of the humor in the all-too-complicated world around us. Suitable for adults.

5.0 out of 5 stars The FUNNIEST Humor Collection EVER!!!, October 12, 2008
By
This review is from: National Lampoon Presents True Facts: the Big Book (Paperback)
National Lampoon Presents True Facts: the Big Book is a must-have collection of the best (worst??) actual blunders found in real road signs, newspaper stories, advertisements, headlines... and much, much more.

I promise that you will never regret having purchased this book. I felt compelled to read sections of it out-loud to friends, and so many others have gone out to buy their own copies because it's so damn funny! It's hard to believe that these tremendous laughs are all based on unintentional misuse of language or typos that make statements so unlike whatever was intended.

Do not miss this book! It's a great gift for friends and family -- if they don't laugh, cut them out of your social circle entirely.

I love, love, love this book, and so will you!

5.0 out of 5 stars It just arrived 20 minutes ago and I had to put it down!, March 21, 2001
This review is from: National Lampoon Presents True Facts: the Big Book (Paperback)
I had to stop reading it on page 7, page 12, and now page 27. I laugh so hard, my tummy hurts & my eyes start to water, that I have to put it down! Totally worth the price, and fun for repeat reading down the road. A MUST HAVE!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply hilarious!!!, December 26, 2001
This review is from: National Lampoon Presents True Facts: the Big Book (Paperback)
Stop reading this and buy this book now.

I mean it. Buy this book now.

Okay, if you simply must read this before buying, I guess there is nothing I can do to stop you. This is a simply hilarious book. There's literally something funny on virtually every page.
Weird and wacky photos, strange advertisements and announcements, and truly bizarre new articles are the norm here.
Truly deserves 6 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Laughs of My Life!, September 24, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: National Lampoon Presents True Facts: the Big Book (Paperback)
This book gave meaning to my previously boring, miserable life. As a geeky high school student, I found that noboby could appreciate my sense of humor. I bought "True Facts: The Big Book" the Summer after my graduation from high school. I loved the book so much that I HAD to take it to college with me. Now I am the big man on campus, thanks to this book. I have friends knocking on the door asking if they can borrow it. It's hard not to laugh at other's verbal mistakes, such as a "SOTP" sign or a sign that reads: "Caution, pedestrians slippery when wet." My hearty thanks to John Bendel for the endless laughs!

5.0 out of 5 stars Whenever You Need a Good Laugh, It's There, January 23, 2012
This review is from: National Lampoon Presents True Facts: the Big Book (Paperback)
I bought this book when it first came out in '95, and have given it as a gift many times since. It's funny as hell. The editorial comments are perfect. For instance, a photograph of two street signs on a post, "Woodcock Rd" and "Kitchen-Dick Ln" The editorial comment is "You live on the corner of where?" So many entries can make me weak with laughter, even after seeing them over and over. It's just an amazing collection. Classic bathroom literature.
