The map in the front of each chapter was nicely displayed showing the locations of the listed partks . However, I didn't find this book easy to use. I felt the way the Parks were indexed in the front of each chapter (by State) was incomplete. I was mainly interested in the ones that had camping facilities and I had to look at each individual park to find that information. I would like to have seen the Activities chart also have Camp Ground information listed. I don't forsee us taking this book along with us as we travel; the information was not any that I couldn't find easier in other Travel books or Camping guides.

Great reference, but hard to use. It's challenging to plan a trip with this book, but it helps when you're eon the road and looking for options. Good buy, but I would look for something more inclusive or park specific. But as a general guide...go for it.

Clarification,

In response to the previous review, the reader states they were "mainly interested in the ones [National Parks] that had camping facilities" and they "had to look at each individual park to find that information." This book is about camping in National Park Service areas -- all of the parks described have some form of camping.
Regarding the Activities Chart, this shows activities available in addition to camping; things like hiking, boating, fishing, etc.
