Another great Ken Burns soundtrack that will definitely be on my Christmas list this year.

I do have one thing to add. If you heard or liked music from the series and did not find it on this disc, go to his soundtrack on Mark Twain. I know music he used on that film, he used on this one. Especially the tracks: 3. Dogue Creek, 5. Howl 6. Mighty Big River 7. Shadow on the Marsh 8. Poor Wayfar'en Stranger 14. Wagoner's Lad 15. The Falls

I know he used Howl and Shadow on the Marsh a lot and a single track from his Civil War film. He might have used more music but these are the pieces I could recognised off hand.

As a child I was fortunate to travel through some spectacular parts of the country including the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, the Redwoods, and Yellowstone. The sights, sounds, and aromas left lasting impressions, and inspired return trips as an adult. The music on this disc allows me to enjoy those experiences again, through the lens of music. Some was was created by people who lived during the age of western movement and exploration, some more recently. This music, newly recorded, speaks to the importance of these internationally known parks, much as did the photographs of Ansel Adams. Not the same as being there, but an effective way to educate people about these treasures in our midst.

An excellent CD--easy listening. We've played it over and over again,

especially for dinner music and never get tired of it. One of the very

best CD's we've ever purchased.

I loved the DVD series, and I loved the music so much that I bought the CD. I still love the CD, but there are a couple of songs (at least) that are on the DVD that are not on the CD? That is the only reason for 4 stars, but I am a little let down to not have all of the music.

This is the BEST Soundtrack I have. It is soothing, relaxing, everything you had expected and then some. BUY THIS CD....NOW!!!!!!!

I love this music when reading or working in a meditative way playing softly in the background.Some music is interuptive and demanding but this is sweet and supportive of mental activities. I play it while I paint.

Once again, Ken Burns hits the mark with this soundtrack. It soothes the soul. Having watched the PBS special and loving the Parks as I do, many of the tracks can be very visual.

The music is beautiful! One piece in particular, Sligo Creek, beckoned me to track down this soundtrack. Thankfully the sheet music for Sligo Creek is available on Amazon [...]

Sometimes I think all the cuts on this CD sound the same, but they're all pleasant listening and very evocative of the Ken Burns DVD on the National Parks, which I thought was absolutely first class.

It's Ken Burns! What more can be said to describe this incredible collection of sound tracks to the 6 DVD, 12 hr. series that is so compelling and totally absorbing! Enjoy!
