This review is from: National Products Mercedes Benz 190 SL Pedal Car - Red (Toy)
The Mercedes Benz pedal car was really cute and stylish, but not durable at all. It would be more decorative or a collectible that wouldn't actually be used by a child. The trim near the rear wheel well on both sides was already broken when I took it out of the box - it was a design flaw. It broke right where a screw came in from the inside of the car to secure the plastic "chrome" trim. Also, I was unable to assemble it because it was missing 3 parts. The bumpers were flimsy and wouldn't withstand any real impact if a child drove it around. Again, it's really cute as a collectible, but not practical as a real toy. I returned it the same day I received it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Car won't look cute for long, April 11, 2011
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: National Products Mercedes Benz 190 SL Pedal Car - Red (Toy)
I read Anne's review about the plastic chrome trim breaking off the body. But my parents were so excited about getting this car for my daughter, and it was so cute, I thought we would be ok. I wish I had listened to her, I would have saved them a few hundred dollars!

The whole point of this toy is its cute looks. Who doesn't want a snappy red convertible Mercedes? But, there is NO way it can look like it does in the picture, for long. Even if by some miracle the car survives the shipment and none of the plastic parts get broken off, they will inevitably break when your kid rides it around. (No the miracle didn't happen for me.) And then who wants a crappy broken-down Mercedes? Not me, that's just depressing to look at.

It's just badly made, having hard plastic screwed onto a hard metal body. And I doubt it will be easy to pedal -- I've already noticed that the tires will get caught between the pedals if you turn the steering wheel enough.

The sticker on the car says it is a collectible and not meant for kids without adult supervision. I think it is too poorly made to even count as a collectible. The windshield keeps poking out of its slot, and the white rubber tires have marks all over them. And the paint job on the body is not glossy.
