Good Book, August 30, 2008

I must admit this wasn't what I expected. I first thought these two Gates children were going to go along with Lewis and Clark on their expedition. I suppose I should've realized that would be inaccurate.
Anyway, Adam Gates and his sister Eleanor, are living in 1803. They hear rumors about Lewis and Clark going on an expedition across the newly purchased Louisiana terrority.
Eleanor desperatly wishes to go, while Adam is not anxious about danger. Then they hear news that President Jefferson may have sent his explorers to find a treasure hidden deep in the wilderness. This causes Adam to change his views about adventure and he agrees to go on the jounry. However, they soon become entertwined with the treasure plot. Men known as the infamous treasure seeking Brewster brothers are after this treasure too and will not stop at nothing to gain it, even if it means murdering the Gates siblings for the knowledge of the treasure.
Now the Gates siblings, along with a Irish boy named Franklin Poole, who had also overheard the treasure seeking Brewsters plot, must evade the murderous brothers and figure the clues to the treasure before they do.
This book's treasure plot was a little more ridiculous then the first two Gates books, I thought. But hey, my childlike nature is easy-going, so I'd say its still in enjoyable book with likeable characters.

Uncharted-A Gates Family Mystery, February 2, 2009
This review is from: National Treasure: A Gates Family Mystery #3: Uncharted (Paperback)
I like Sagas that span generations. This one starts the Gates Family off in the New World. It's fun and exciting. I almost thought I was in the woods and in the Indian Village with Gates. It relates to history.
