I had an issue with the stand that came with my 9ft Carolina pine which is the exact same stand design that that this one is. The issue was once the stand was folded and stored it got what I will assume was runt and would not open (even with WD40) . I finally bent the legs trying to open it. This stand is made exactly the same way. SO, if you store this stand do so by either leaving it open (not collapsed) or spraying it down with a heavy coating of WD40 or white lithium spray grease. Another nice feature of this stand is that it comes with an assortment of adapters to fit the various diameters of the tree that fits into the stand.

Agravatted that the stabilizing screws for the tree stand got stripped when trying to insert. But it works and tree stands upright without them.
