Nice Sounding Flute,
By michelleed (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Native American Flute, Synthetic, in "F"
This is my first Native American Flute. For the most part it sounds really good. The top 4 or 5 very high notes are a little hard to play, and the totem/bird is not adjustable - but the other notes really sound wonderful. My hands are a little small and it is a bit of a reach for me to finger the bottom three holes, but I'm getting use to it. In case your hands are small, here's some measurements that would have helped me know ahead of time that this flute is a little bit of a stretch for small hands: Overall length is 24 & 1/4"; holes are between approx 12 & 3/4" and 19 & 1/4 " from the mouthpiece; and the top holes are approx 1 inch on center, but the bottom holes are a maximum of 1 & 3/8's inch on center - which is a stretch for small hands. (If this is a concern look for a slightly smaller, but higher note flute (?like key of A) if you're interested.) I am greatly enjoying my flute - & you just can't beat it for the price!!

Do flutes sound like this?,

Sounds Horrible, like some cheap plastic toy you'd give to your children. Great for decoration, but dont expect to get any music out of it. Good Luck.
