A great choice for rough-and-tumble outdoor play, Native's Throttle sunglasses offer a unique interchangeable lens system that lets you switch lenses without having to put your fingers all over the lens. These P.C.C. (Polarized Crystal Carbonate) optical-quality, impact-resistant lenses block 100 percent of harmful UV light and eliminate glare for sharp, clear vision with increased contrast and depth perception.

The self-adjusting Cushinol nosepads and ear stems create a non-slip grip that keeps sunglasses in place, and the cam-action spring hinges allow the temples to quickly lock into position. Other features include:

  • Rhyno-Tuff Air Frames: A proprietary high-performance thermoplastic material that is extremely lightweight, yet durable enough to withstand high velocity collisions and temperature extremes.
  • Venting system: Incorporates exhaust vents into its design framework to enhance airflow, which virtually eliminates fog and condensation. This unique design feature is the only system available that allows maximum ventilation while blocking extraneous incoming light.
  • Mastoid Temple Grip: This proprietary design feature ensures the temple ends hug the mastoid bone (behind your ears), providing a secure and comfortable fit.
  • Anti-Ocular Intrusion System: Designed to prevent your lenses from dangerously shooting toward your eyes in the event of a high velocity impact.

Excellent Sunglasses! First note, See my customer photos these glasses are much darker than the amazon photo (At the time of this review) shows.. They look very light on amazons photo but they are very dark which is good! (I saw them in store before I purchased).

These glasses fit very well and are a slimmer design than a lot.. If you don't like big, bulky glasses you will LOVE THESE.. Very slim and nice look!! I love the air vents in these glasses.. When I go for my morning swim my Oakleys always fog during my drive home.. That is not the case with these glasses!! No fogging so the vents work well!.. These are very comfortable glasses that I can wear all day! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Native glasses are the best. Lifetime warranty on everything, even scratched lenses! I have a narrow face and finding glasses that fit me is difficult, but Native have a bunch of styles that are made for smaller faces. That is great for me. Plus every pair of glasses that they make has polarized lenses. Which is great if you plan on using these glasses for anything outdoors. I am a huge skiier and My natives come with me all the time. They are great cause the cut the glare out and they are light and can take some abuse. Plus if they break you send them back plus $30 and you get a new pair. I love these glasses and will continue to buy these over oakley and maui jim .

If you've ever tried on pair after pair of sunglasses only to say, "they're all so big - I look ridiculous in them" Native's Throttle sunglasses might be for you. I was hesitant to buy sunglasses without trying them on beforehand, but these were exactly what I'd hoped for - finally, sunglasses that don't make me look like a bug-person! Better yet, you can get different lenses for them, though expect to pay $20 - $40, depending on your color choice. The gray lenses aren't too dark, and provide me with reasonable protection on sunny days. I've recently ordered a pair of the Sportflex replacement lenses, which are not quite clear. At $30, they're more than I wanted to spend, but on dark days when I want to keep the winter wind from battering my corneas, they should be just the thing.

This is my second pair of Native throttle glasses after misplacing the first. These glasses are great for smaller faces. I wear them to hike, bike, at the beach, and around town on a sunny day. They stay put and don't squeeze the side of my head.

I have been a Native owner since 2005. The best thing about this manufacturer is the longevity of the frames and the ability to swap lenses. My first frames, Ignition, took me through three subzero winters in college to years of sun, sand, and saltwater and the only reason why I decided to replace them was that I could not easily find replacement lenses for them. I have paid several times more for Oakleys only to have the frames break or in one instance disintegrate from minor salt-water use. The bonus of swapping lenses is that you can use them in more of a variety of situations rather than having different pairs of glasses. Yellow lenses for night riding, dark and polarized for sea or snow.

Native has been rock-solid through a variety of temperatures and environments, skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, paddling and the frames are just as strong as when I got them. For around $100 or less for most of their glasses, it's a steal when they last for years.

I would suggest you purchase a spare set of lenses as Native does update their frames and lenses will be hard to come by later. I look forward to another decade of owning the same frames with the only issue being replacing lenses from inevitable scratches.

Sunglasses are one of those things that I am very particular about. I'm willing to pay a little more money if what I'm getting is quality. I had heard that Native sunglasses are quality, good at doing their job while still looking stylish, so I figured I'd give them a try. As far as the price goes, I feel like they are overpriced, $97.00 for a pair of sunglasses that only comes with a cloth case to protect them. $60 or less would be more reasonable for what you get. If you can get a pair on sale, go for it, that's what I did.

I definitely don't have any complaint about how they look, very stylish and cool. The vents on the top do their job, I wore them all summer working at a camp and was sweating practically all day with them on, never fogged up once. The Silver Reflex Lenses also do their job, if you go to the Native website they are polarized with 10% VLT. No squinting, so the lenses themselves are fantastic.

The two unsatisfactory things I have about the glasses have to do with the frames and I noticed almost immediately. First, the frames are a little small, the tight fit might be a good thing since they are sport glasses, they won't fall off easily. Second your field of vision isn't completely covered. If you look up you can look out of the glasses even with them pushed all the way to your face, the frames don't extend up very much. Next, while driving I found that I had to turn my head extra far in order to check my blind spot, the side of the frames block my peripheral vision, or at least limit it. Because of these two things I am almost always aware that I am wearing them. The best glasses are the ones that you don't notice you're wearing.

Bottom Line: I would recommend these glasses to a friend, and when I need a new pair of sunglasses I will be looking to Native again.
