I've been a fan of bamboo shoots for years, but have always struggled with finding quality product in a can.
My search is over. While another reviewer is correct that these are not big slices, they are not chopped bits either. I happen to prefer these smaller slices to the big, sometimes tough, slabs in other products. The flavor is mild, but you still get a hint of that bamboo shoot funk, the texture is a soft crunch.
The other night I rinsed a can and dumped it in my rice cooker with rice, coconut milk and green curry paste for a one pot meal.
The package arrived undamaged with no dented cans.

The 1 star reviewer rated this product harshly, saying that the bamboo was in chopped bits. This of course is not true, but they *are* thinly cut and a very delicate coloured bamboo compared to the thick yellow slices I have sometimes purchased unknowingly when trying new brands for my thai curry experimentation. These tasted lovely, and I am happy to know that they are organic as well, even if I am not completely sure if the can is BPA free. (I have read the company has many of their products in BPA free cans, 1 being their coconut milk which is delicious and I used in the same curry)
I purchased 2 cases of these and received 4 dented cans out of 12. Disappointing? Yes, but the dents were very minor and in no way did it affect the quality or my ability to open the cans. (While I do know that sometimes cans from products purchased on Amazon may be badly damaged, mine were not.)
Like my title suggests, this is a highly recommended product, and the taste of the bamboo very much compliments the curries I make. The flavour is a bit 'lighter' and not as overpowering a bamboo taste vs. other brands, but this was not an issue for me. They offer great subscribe and save offers on this product (I paid $9.73 per 6 cans with free shipping) and much cheaper than purchasing in stores near me.
The ONLY flaw I can think of, is I wish they offered another variety of bamboo shoots in the very very thin shredded like slices) as I sometimes prefer that size in certain dishes, but that is just a minute point. I will continue to purchase this product when they are a good price :)
