5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent place to begin, August 3, 1999
By A Customer
If you don't know anything about Native American religions and you want a general overview, this is a good place to start. Ake Hultkrantz begins with a chronology of the cultures, explains a little about traditions and worldviews, then goes on to give two examples: a society of hunters (Shoshoni), and a society of horticulturalists (Zuni). It is a very short, simple and effective way to generally categorize these societies, and will help direct you to further reading based on your interest.
