As I read the book, daily, I find myself continuously validated. The Maori believe as I do. So do the Irish, the Samoan, the Inupiat, the Aboriginal, the Blackfoot, the Hawaiian, the Swahili, the Lakota...and there is still so much for me to learn from them. All of these people have a reverence for life and incredibly generous spitits. The book shows us the common sense that we Westerners ignore in the favor of materialism, and shows us the wonderful sense of humor that Native Peoples have. This books has something for all of us in Western culture to learn from.

I really like this book. I am a European-American and learned a lot about what Native people think. It is not a traditional calming meditation book. It is very challenging at times and I highly recommend it.

I did not expect what I got from this book. I have only purchased history books and Native American books. It was on the recommended list for me and I made the mistate of thinking it was Native American Wisdom for White Minds. As it turns out it is native wisdom from all over the world. That is ok if that is what you were looking for but I have already studied religions of the world and was looking for specifically Native American wisdom and/or spirituality.

A young family member has been accepted and guided by a grooup of Native Americans. I wanted to send him something that would help him have a deeper understanding of their culture. He is loving this book. Reads it every day. That is a 5 star rating!

I have been reading this book for some time and it has always been just what I needed to hear. I have had many friends read it over the years as well and they have even gone out and have gotten one for them selfves. It has help keep me inspired in my own recovery;as well as to help others in there own recovery.

This book gives a broad range of topics and perspectives, from indigenous cultures from around the world. It can be helpful to see something the way someone else sees things, and the perception can change - not by becoming less or other than, but by becoming more.

A "MUST", If you don't read it, you will miss something in your life. There is a lot to learn

Thsi is a good source of daily meditation.Not exactly as I had antipated, but nonrtheless, this book does help you to stop and reflect on you life and they way you are living it.It helps you to look at more simpler way of viewing and interpreting life.
