Great CD find from 1985,

This review is from: Natives Are Restless (Audio CD)
Remember the 1980's guitar style? ... just picture an amazing guitar lead with that style without the glam. Although not as good as Cacophony there are some great parts on this ablum. In case you don't know this is Marty Friedman's "major break through" band that gave him his "first noterity." If you are expecting a "Hawaiian" sound, you won't get it, it's purely 1980's metal. This was recorded in Honolulu in 1985 because afterall that's where Marty's from. On the 1997 "import" from France there are 9 tracks. I don't think they were "remastered" because the quality isn't as good as one would hope. As for the band 'Hawaii' (discography): in 1984 they put out "LOUD, WILD AND HEAVY," then an E.P. (unknown name), and lastly "THE NATIVES ARE RESTLESS" in 1985. Overall minus my objections of the recording (I'm sure it's the best they had with their budget at the time) this album makes me wish I was on the beaches in Hawaii blasting this CD for all to hear. This album starts off with soft Hawaiian style music, and gets loud and heavy. It's a little bit dated and thus is a little on the lame side because of the singer's glammed voice, but it's still good for any Friedman fan.Hawaii: 'The Natives Are Restless' Tracklist: Hawaii is:
