Healthy Trinity is a great product albeit a pricey one. Getting it nearly half off of what you would pay from buying from Natren directly is, unfortunately, a deal that is too good to be true in this case.

Direct Super Center does not ship the product with cold packs or dry ice. When I contact them they stated that "Healthy Trinity is a product that is good up to 72 hours without refrigeration" and they recommended expedited shipping. I called Natren and a rep named Caroline informed me that this is absolutely not true. It needs to be shipped cold and the the probiotics will die otherwise which leaves you with a damn expensive bottle of worthlessness. The rep told me that they get this a lot, that companies often send their product in these dubious ways and that it is a constant effort to stop these practices but are unable to combat it all with the ubiquity of internet sales.

So DO buy this product (in my opinion, it seems to help me & my IBD) but DO NOT buy from this vendor or any other that does not ship it cold.

It really is the best probiotic I have found, and I've tried quite a few. You see I have had digestive problems for my entire life and developed food sensitivities that have plagued me for the last 15 years at minimum. It got so bad I felt like there was not much I could eat without suffering. I had symptoms like Chronic Fatigue for almost a decade. With Healthy Trinity I am eating more foods, sleeping better and having more energy. I'm not just a little bit better, I'm a lot better thanks to Natren's Healthy Trinity.

That said, I'm a big fan of a book called Bacteria for Breakfast: Probiotics for Good Health. The author recommends high initial doses of probiotics. That might mean taking as many as ten (10) capsules a day (or more), which means you'll be spending roughly $15 dollars day when you start. This sounds expensive, but it's a lot cheaper than doctors, prescriptions and days and years of life lost to illness.

A critical issue remains though. THIS STUFF HAS TO BE CONSTANTLY REFRIGERATED! The manufacturer, Natren, ships by second day air with an insulated container and ice packs (and even dry ice in summer). Buying it from a third party raises the question: Is the refrigeration being properly maintained throughout the shipping, handling and warehousing process? When you are spending this kind of money and your health is at stake you don't want to fool around. If you call Natren you can purchase directly from them. Natren's list price is higher than the price offered here, but if you ask they will sell you three bottles for the price of two, a substantial discount, but still more expensive than this offer on Amazon.

This Probiotic is one of the best on the market. I have many allergies and food sensitivities. I have tried a lot of similar products only to end up with stomach aches and other intestinal issues. No problems with this brand. Now that I have been taking it, I am having less problems with foods and all stomach issues then I have had in many years.

I purchased it through Amazon and the shipping company listed did a great job getting this products to me quickly. It was packaged in a stryofoam container with ice packs. I won't hesitate buying through Amazon when I need my next refill.

I've been shopping for Healthy Trinity all over the web and the best price by far was this deal on Amazon. I mean come on, how could I pass up $64.50, no tax, amazon prime 2 day free shipping? A no brainer. Even though I read the negative shipping comments I chose to ignore them and take a chance. Today is July 26, 2011, it was shipped on July 22...I am yet to receive the package. The tracking as of right now says "in transit". Even with refrigeration and cold packs, 5 days and counting is much too long, and from what I've heard American Wholesale doesn't pack with cold packs. Here's a quote from Natren.com FAQ...

How long can probiotics stay un-refrigerated before they lose their potency?

There is no way to guarantee the potency of probiotics if they have been without refrigeration at any time. When probiotic products are shipped without refrigeration, they can be exposed to very high temperatures. Since probiotics are living organisms, you can be guaranteed of their potency only if they have been shipped and stored refrigerated. Natren products are refrigerated from manufacturing throughout the entire shipping process. This has always been Natren's standard when other companies have misrepresented the potency of their probiotic products by claiming they are shelf-stable; they conveniently don't mention that their products are not stable when exposed to harsh temperatures in the warehouse, shipping and distribution processes. If other companies cannot guarantee potency of each strain through a printed expiry date, how can you trust any of their claims?

It's clear this company is depending on the consumers ignorance. They bait you with a killer deal and hope you don't know about the crucial refrigeration and shelf life.
