IN A NUTSHELL: AFTER DECADES I MUST ADMIT THERE IS NO MAGIC PILL!

Like everyone, we've looked for the one multiple vitamin that would be a "magic bullet" of sorts. Take 1 per day, and you're all set for the onslaughts of real life. Reluctantly, grudingly in fact, I have come to the realization that no such magic, one-a-day, vitamin/mineral/herbal health...

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor Delivery
I have waited delivery of this product for 20 days. Other products in the same shopping cart was delivered in a week. Plus, it is not provided to track your package from amazon web site because of Swanson Co. It doesn't worth to comment...

Reluctantly, grudingly in fact, I have come to the realization that no such magic, one-a-day, vitamin/mineral/herbal health insurance exists. For a number of reasons, mostly dealing with timing, quantity and interactions, this is not truly possible at this point.

WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT: MINIMAL COMPROMISES + ECONOMICAL = MAX RESULTS

What I have found, and have used for the past three years, is something that does meet my requirements for our entire family, and perhaps these are close to your own needs as well. Looking for a minimal amount of compromises, reasonable cost, and a maximum of health benefits plus convenience, were my primary objectives.

Lastly, cost was, and is a factor, as I have found that if the supplements are perceived as too expensive, they get taken too sparingly, which obviously defeats the purpose of buying, and using the product in the first place. So, this Natrol product will cost about $8. per month per adult, if you take 6 per day as directed.

COMPROMISES: FEWER THE BETTER!

Compromises came in the form of taking six capsules per day, [2 per meal] and still needing to augment some of the ingredients with higher doses seperately. However, in "Natrol's My Favorite Multiples" there is a very wide range of necessary and useful vitamins, minerals, herbs and digestive enzymes, nearly all in useful doses, and in the correct forms to be assimilated most efficiently and completely. In capsules, these nutrients are spared the heat treatment, and pressure needed to make pills which destroys many of the B vitamins, as well as others. Also, this specific variety is "WITHOUT IRON" which means everyone in the family can use it, and it will not block the absorption of Vitamin E and other vital nutrients. The need for six capsules per day is mostly due to the presence of 100% of the RDA for Calcium and Magnesium, which will add bulk to any formula.

Ingredients below - including the form that the nutrients are in.

BOTTOM LINE: OUR RESOLUTION TO THE MULTIPLE DAILY SUPPLEMENT DILEMMA

Our entire family has been taking this exact Natrol product for the past three years. Frankly, I am always looking for better supplements for our entire family, but this is the first "multiple" product that we have felt satisfied with ever. In the past, we have bought daily multiples from many makers, as a health supplement, stop-gap of sorts, but for the first time we feel the stop-gap has been resolved with MY FAVORITE MULTIPLES by Natrol!

5.0 out of 5 stars Effective, inexpensive dietary insurance, May 12, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've been using this product for years and find it to be very effective. The powder-filled capsules are much more likely to be absorbed than one-a-day tablets, but be prepared to take lots of capsules every day, spread out between meals. (The recommended dose is six per day.) I especially notice the difference these make in the evening if I have been working all day. Watch out, though, if you try these on an empty stomach! If you're like me, you'll feel quite sick in about 20 minutes. Just don't do it! They need to be mixed in with food in the stomach.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Multi Vitamin with No Side Effects, January 17, 2010
By
Cameron MacDonald (Middleboro, MA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I take a multi vitamin because, like a lot of people, I don't feel that I always eat correctly and I would like to be sure that I am getting what my body needs at least most of the time. I have taken several different types and brands, from generic store brands to specialized expensive types and to be honest they all have the same hype and I don't notice a difference with many of them. After going through chemo treatments in 2006 my digestive system was a mess and getting it re started took months. I got a reaction to the iron in the vitamin I was taking as well as any form of beef. I read where older men in particular need to be aware of the amount of iron that they are putting into their systems as too much will cause circulatory problems. I already have issues there, so I selected Natrol No Iron, both because of the ingredients and the cost. I can tell you that my digestive system appreciates the lack of iron and I feel much better without it. I am much more comfortable and am not constantly belching from the reaction of the iron. I feel the difference when I don't remember to take them either. Based on my experience, I also take other Natrol products, such as Easy-C, with full confidence. Good products at good prices.
