I have not used another brand of soap nuts except naturoli. Then again why would I when it is just fantastic?! I once thought the price is kinda hefty since i bought a smaller one to experiment. Then i see this deal and i felt like a fool for not buying this instead. In the beginning i chucked the soap nuts in cold water with my wash and i was not too thrilled about the results but I decided, for earth i will endure a semi clean shirt. But as i reread the Naturoli site (Lots of wonderful info) i boiled it and oh man.. I LOVE IT! The smell is so natural and beautiful. I hate fragrance detergent. I've been getting my sister to use it but my brothers find it a hassle to have to put it in hot water first so they dont. grrr.

But it is has been a heaven sent. When I see such a product I wondered why humankind ever even created commercial detergents when this stuff is so much better?

Oh, and i love how its a plant. It will force people not to deforest and plant more trees. I have absolutely no complaint about these soap nuts. The only thing maybe is i have to boil every time but its well worth it!

I got a front loading washing machine about a year ago, and I love it except for when I wash towels. They never came out clean-smelling. That all changed when I started using these Soap Nuts. Now my towels and all my other laundry come out smelling and looking cleaner than ever! I couldn't find a lot of information about how many soap nuts to use for the front loading washers, since they use less water than the top loading washers. But I have been using 3 nuts and reusing them at least 4 times with no problems. These are wonderful!

Soap nuts are extremely economical to use, and they contain no chemicals. If you're looking for ways to reduce the chemical exposure in your household, this is one of the easiest, most effective, most affordable ways you can do that.

How I use soap nuts: I put 5 soap nuts into the small cloth bag (included with purchase) and tie it shut. I drop it into my top-loading washer along with my dirty laundry and run the load as usual. (Note: I wash everything in cold water.) When the washer stops, I remove the bag of soap nuts and set it on top of the dryer to dry. When the soap nuts feel squishy inside the bag, I know it's time to dump them out and refill with 5 fresh soap nuts. I usually get 5 wash loads per bagful. I do not use any chemicals such as fabric softener or dryer sheets. I do, however, put vinegar into the final rinse dispenser of my washer (1/4 cup in summer when it's humid and 1/2 cup in winter when it's dry). The vinegar reduces static electricity for clothes dried in the dryer. (This is something I've done for years, before I started using soap nuts.)

Our laundry includes the following: towels, sheets, my clothes, my husband's clothes (he's a professional painter, he works on our vehicles, and he does yard work - so his stuff can get pretty dirty), and cloth diapers when the grandchildren visit. I've tried to determine what our laundry smells like after it's been washed and dried either in the dryer or on the clothesline. All I can say is that it smells "clean." The soap nuts don't seem to impart any particular scent onto the laundry.

We keep a notepad by our washer on which we record each wash load and note whenever we start a fresh bag of soap nuts. I probably won't do this forever, but being a new soap nuts user myself, I wanted to see how long they lasted and how the cost per load worked out. We have now used soap nuts for a total of 68 laundry loads. We've used 5.8 oz. of the 4 lb. package we purchased, which, at my purchase price of $49.95, works out to a cost of $.07 per load! The average number of soap nuts we have used per load is 5.7.

The literature that came with the soap nuts said that they have other household cleaning uses besides laundry. I haven't tried them on my dishes or anything else yet, but one of these days I just might.

If you aren't convinced yet to buy soap nuts in a large quantity, please buy a trial size and use them for a few loads. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised!

I had decided that I wanted to make my own laundry detergent, in an effort to be more natural and expose my family to fewer chemicals. I got online to look for a recipe and stumbled across Soap Nuts. I read all about them and thought I'd give them a try. I ordered the sample pack from Amazon and then put them to work. I washed a couple loads and everything seemed fine. My clothes were clean and looked great. But then I thought I would really put them to the test. I used the Soap Nuts to wash my dirty, stinky kitchen rags (several times in the past I have had to rewash the load because after washing them with store bought detergent they still were somewhat smelly). Well, this is what sold me on Soap Nuts - after that wash all my kitchen rags were clean and smell-free. I have since told my friends all about them and bought the 4lb. bag from NaturOli. Just give them a try and let them speak for themselves.

I really like using soap berries for laundry. I'm still experimenting to see how many loads I can do with four or so of them in the little muslin bag that comes with the order--so far three loads with no sign of slowing down. I stopped using dryer sheets with success also. No static and clothes are super soft. My water is very hard and has a slight sulfur smell to it, but the berries are tough enough for that water. Clothes come out smelling clean and are soft--better than when I was using All + borax.

Update: I've just finished my 7th load with the first .5 ounce of soap berries. Still going strong. After washing a fleece-type blanket, there was quite a bit of static upon pulling it out of the dryer, but it quickly dissipated. It wasn't enough static to make me want to use a dryer sheet.

I have used these soapnuts for several months now and they work great. Clean fresh smell, no odors. Wonderful company with a wonderful product.

This is my second order of soap nuts from NaturOli. Great product, and does a wonderful job with my laundry. I even use the spent laundry nuts to clean my blender -- the blades whip up enough froth to do the job. The included bags are the best -- no thin strings that are almost impossible to untie.

These soap nuts are amazing!! I have already saved so much money using these nuts instead laundry soap. I feel cleaner and my clothes are amazingly soft without even using fabric softner. I love to share these with every one so they can witness the magic for themselves. When my bag finally runs out, I will not hesitate to buy another bag.
