I wanted to like this massage oil; I really did. I mean, after all, it was rated as one of Cosmo's sexiest gifts ever. But it just didn't do it for me.

The oil itself works fine as a massage oil, though it is a bit thin for me. Also, there was a strange feeling to the texture of the oil.. almost a 'graininess', though I don't think that's the right word for it. There is a 'rough' feel, somehow embedded in the smoothness of it.. which is hard to describe, because the overall texture is silky smooth.

I love that it's made from natural ingredients, things that will wash out of sheets and not leave a sticky mess behind, either on the linens or on your body. Most of the ingredients are things you'd find in your kitchen; however, this also is part of the drawback for me. The scent of this oil was very off-putting to me. It wasn't pleasant.. it wasn't even passable. Something about it just reminded me of a marriage of cooking oil and play-doh. That's an odd combination of things to compare it to, right? Well, that's precisely why this oil didn't do it for me.. the mixing scents of cooking oil and play-doh do not help set the stage for a romantic evening.

The indications say there's no need to wash it off, and while that's true insofar as the feel of the oil on the skin goes, by morning, the smell had only changed and intensified. I gave the product two stars, because technically speakings, the oil can certainly be used to aid in a massage, but there are many others that will do just as well, and have a much more enticing aroma and taste.

The roller they sent was kind of silly, but the oil smells and feels amazing. Two full body massages and you can barely tell any has been used from the bottle because it spreads so well.

First of all, this gift set is overpriced. There was a tiny little cheap sticky flower inside the bottle-cap (about the size of pinky fingernail - NOT at all similar whatsoever to the heart shown attached to bottle of oil - and not even similar in size or shape - and yes I did read that this varies). The cream and lotions are mini-travel sizes (similar to what you might get for free at a hotel and not worth $6-$7; BTW- real travel size is 3 oz) and only one, cheaply made wooden massage roller, al "filler". The marketing picture is misleading. The oil itself is good but largely carrier oil based but the fragrance is pleasant. I would return this item and get a refund but since I purchased this for a Valentine's Gift for my husband, I will not. Had I to do over, I WOULD NOT purchase this item. I wish I had ordered the oil only (approx $34) and made my own "gift set". I'm not so sure what or who at Cosmo magazine was thinking when they rated this item as 2009 Sexiest Gift Ever - but clearly, they were, shall I say, GIFTingly Challenged! The flavored sensual-gel packets at 8 for under $5 is the much better deal and is the real Sexiest Gift Ever, as far as I'm concerned ....
