Not so sure....,

This review is from: Dr. Natura Colonix All Natural Intestinal Cleanser, 360g (Health and Beauty)
I've been taking the Colonix and the Toxinout for a month and a half. I started out thinking I would do the whole three months (I was exposed to serious toxins and have been trying anything and everything possible to help return to normal functioning), but I think I'm about done for the time being.
The pros: Possibly more energy at times, more alertness. The fiber seems to help a lot when I get the tea right (see cons). The cons: I drink a lot of water normally, even more so now with the cleanse but still get headaches. I get much bloating. I understand that there are symptoms associated with "cleansing the system" but 3 months of it is a bit hard to take. I haven't noticed anything like the pictures on the website, and my stomach seems more distended than flat because of the constant bloating. Also, I never seem to be able to get the tea right (or my system if very sensitive to the ingredients) because I'm usually either constipated or creating diahrea. So all and all, I'm not sure if it's worth it. I'm not sure if I would have gotten the same results from adding more fiber (which I did realize through this experiment that I wasn't getting enough of) and supplements into my diet. Or dare I say, eating right and exercising? Honestly, I had the same energy boost and alterness occur when I went strict vegan for lent.

Not for everyone... did the OPPOSITE of what it advertises,
This review is from: Dr. Natura Colonix All Natural Intestinal Cleanser, 360g (Health and Beauty)
I will keep this review short as I like to avoid discussing BM's (bowel movements) at length on Amazon.
Initially, when I heard of Colonix I was skeptical since there were so many obviously fake review sites out there and any company that stoops to that type of tactic is suspect. Anyways, I did find legitimate sites with reviews so I shelled out and started the program. The first 5 days I became somewhat excited as I had AM BM, right when I woke up. Once I started days 6 - 31 (you double the doses) I completely clogged up... I rigidly followed directions: 2 liters of water, at least and so on. At day 11 I still had not been able to go: swollen belly, cramps but nothing. I called Client Service and looked online and the suggestions were to seep the tea longer and drink more water. At this point I was being told to drink so much water I was draining electrolytes at a disturbing pace. As of day 14 I had to take other measures and stop the program and toss out the 70$ or so I paid. The other measures? An enema. And it was not able to get the upper part of my bowels unclogged. Wish there was a Roto rooter for this stuff :( I hope others have success but this stuff REALLY deregulated me and clogged me up. I will never try anything like this again. Good luck to the believers.

Not sure what I think about this product,

I read many reviews of this product prior to my purchase. I don't think that I had any where near the positive results of the reviews I read. I know that they say to use it for at least a month but, I got a large rash on my stomach, my head hurt daily and I just didn't feel right. I stopped using it after two weeks. I might try it again just to finish it because it was relatively expensive and I may be too cheap to not finish it for that reason alone!

Excellent results! Better than expected.,

I feel so much better now. I did the 3 month program and the results were so good it made it easy to complete the program. I also used the Toxin Out program. My energy level has returned in full force. I really can't remember when I've felt this good or had this much energy. (Well maybe when I was 8) No more fatigue, stomach cramps and bloating, much less embarrassing gas, no more stomache aches. I plan on continuing the mainenance plan - forever!

I've been taking this product for about 3 weeks now. On the 3rd day I got really excited because my BM was huge. I just knew this was going to end my irregular movements. My stomach went down alot. After that nothing like that happened again. The tea doesn't do anything for me even when I let it steep for over 10minutes. I have to take a Cascara Sagrada laxative instead of the tea to get a BM the next day. I'm drinking the water amount it tells you to consume and nothing spectacular at all. Actually I've bought another fiber cleanser to take with it and it helps more. I just think the product cost too much to not deliver like it should.

Colonix customer for years now,

I accidentally posted this review under toxinout, not the colon cleansing kit as I should have although I have used both products and recommend the toxinout as well. I am posting my review here also, where it should have been in the first place. If someone can tell me how to fix it, I would appreciate it.
I was a mom of 4 with brain fog, always tired, bad breath. After reading up on colon cleansing at a natural health message board, I decided to try this product. You can cleanse on your own using stuff that may be found in your own pantry, but the thing I liked about this product was that it was all prepackaged, ready to go for a busy mom like me. It worked slower over a longer period of time which was great, I am a stay at home mom. Hated the taste of the fiber at first, but I learned to drink it with grape juice(my hubby preferred apple juice) but now I can drink it with no problem. I did not feel well a week into the program, but realized that when you are trying to remove years of build up in your body, it can be hard on your system, dislodging all of that junk. By the end of week 2, I felt so incredible. Like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. I love the tea, it also was a nice time at night for me and my husband to sit down and talk. You should realize the long ropes they show you on the website is fiber with junk attached to it. Sorry to be gross, but I had to look. I do not tolerate olives well, I had one at Christmas dinner and part of it ended up stuck in me somehow, it was on this rope of stuff in March. There were all kinds of nasty stuff I passed. I also had dull side pain one night and the next morning, I passed a tapeworm. Disgusting!!!!!! I am a middle class American who has only left the country once on a cruise. I will begin my annual cleanse this summer (I do a 1 month cleanse only, the first time I did a 2 month), this will be my 3rd year. I cannot recommend this product enough. Make sure you take a probiotic with it.

It Makes You Go,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It definitely makes you go to the bathroom more and loosens a person right up, but that's about all. No weight loss was experienced. A down side is that you have to take your daily medications either two hours before or two hours after taking the fiber in the morning. If you get sidetracked, the medications go by the wayside for the day.

Not sure it works, thinking of returning for refund,
By Soniafm1027 (New York, NY, USA) - See all my reviews

April 3rd I started a very healthy low carb high protein diet similar to the Atkin's Diet, but with more fruits, nuts and salads, in order to lose some weight, since it worked for me well several years before. I searched online for a product that would be good to detox my body and found the info on Colonix and Toxinout. I spent a couple of days reading lots of the reviews/testimonials from "customers" and was convinced to give the product a try, even tho someone I asked told me the product is not worth the money. So I purchased 3 months supply of the expensive Colonix and Toxinout systems and started taking them on April 25th, by then I had lost 18 lbs. on the low carb high protein diet.
I followed the directions precisely and drank at least 8 cups of water a day. The fiber powder has a very revolting taste even mixed with juice. The taste is so disgusting I had to hold my breath and swallow it as quickly as possible, but I figure that was a small price to pay if the product work the way it's supposed to. The following few days I didn't notice any dramatic bowel movements, only thing different was much more intense yellow looking urine, and had several small very soft vowel movements instead of just 1 or 2 soft BMs. The next few days the movements decreased back to 1 or 2 small BMs a day, sometimes soft, sometimes normal-hard. On April 29th I had bad cramps at least 3 times that day. The next day as soon as I got up I started having chest pains. Thinking it might be gas or heartburn I waited a while to see if the chest pain would go away, but it kept getting a little worst. I tried to lay down and the pain got much worst, so had to get back up. The pain didn't feel anything like heartburn or acid reflux which I have had in the past, before I started eating healthier. I called the help line from my health insurance and told the nurse my symptoms. She told me to call 911 and go to the hospital just to make sure I wasn't in danger. So I called 911 and the paramedics came and examined me and took me to the hospital. I spent most of the morning til early evening in the emergency room with the chest pain getting worst, having difficulty breathing, and unable to lay down flat on the bed, which would make the chest pain worst. Then was moved to ICU where I spent a few hours with arrhythmia in the form of tachycardia, with my heart beating up 135 beats a minute whenever I moved or got out of the bed to use the bathroom. A doctor finally gave me a shot of a medication which got my heart beating more normally. At midnight I was moved out of ICU to a room on another floor. I spent the night at the hospital, not being able to lay flat on the bed and still feeling mild chest pains up til the next afternoon. The doctors never found out what caused the chest pains or the tachycardia. The chest pain was gone by the time I got home in the afternoon and I didn't have any chest pain since then. I think what may had caused the chest pains may had been dehydration, maybe caused by all the fiber in the Colonix, but that's just a theory. I stop taking the Colonix and Toxinout for a couple of days, but then continue taking it, didn't want to give up on it so quickly, making sure to drink plenty of water. Continued to have pretty much the same results as before, with 2 or 3 small BMs a day. Had cramps a couple of times another day. By May 14 I had lost 22 lbs. on the low carb high protein diet. The results of the Colonix and Toxinout so far had been disappointing. I never had any weird or disgusting looking BMs like those shown on the DrNatura site, my BMs stayed pretty much the same. I'm seriously thinking of returning the 2 months I have left of the products for a refund. So I don't think I would recommend this product over another similar product. Since I can't prove that the products caused my chest pains I won't give it a 1 star rating. Can't give it more than 2 stars since I feel it didn't work as advertized or made me feel any different than before I started taking it.

Did everything according to the instructions even made sure my water in-take was correct. No increase in bowel movements, no change in energy levels, no weight loss. Nothing remotely close to what the reviews said or what the product promised. I had stacked my change of lifestyle in this product. Very disappointed.

Works if you follow instructions,

Kind of weird writing a review for an intestinal product, but here goes. I have used this product for about 3 cleanses, the first in the summer of 2003, I think. I am also doing a cleanse now.
The most important thing I could tell you about this product/cleanse is this; Drink your water. Don't concern yourself with the other products from Dr. Natura. I have tried the Kleri-tea and the Paranil, the former caused highly uncomfortable cramping, and the latter did...well, nothing. (I have tried Jim's Colon Pills, and they were the only parasite-killing pill that ever worked for me, actually killed 3 kinds of parasites, I witnessed this while on them for just a week trial, which the company paid for in full. (Not sure they still share free samples or not. I have heard good things about Humaworm, so I plan to try their brand for the heckuvit.) Anyway, the flavor of the fiber mixed with plain water is akin to a hell I am not prepared to describe or re-live. Ok that was a little hyperbolic and dramatic. Here is my recipe, which makes it palatable enough for me to choke it down daily without complaint. Save yourself the frustration and buy a Blenderbottle, you're an Amazon shopper, so I take it you can find one right quick. Pour it at least half full of water, add Colonix fiber, some cocoa (I prefer Nativas Naturals Cacao Powder, which is raw.) I add about a scant tablespoon, maybe less. Then I add Nutiva Organic Hempshake, which also contains fiber, but I take it to add flavor. I then add maybe 1/2 cup more water on top of that, close the BlenderBottle ( I can live without the BB, but who'd want to?) and shake really well. I then pour half of the mixture into a large glass and add EVEN MORE water and stir well. Ha. I drink this in short order. Then I take the other half, add enough water so it isn't too thick or gloppy, and down that. By then, your stomach may feel like a over-filled water balloon, so you should never eat right before your daily fiber. And don't worry, the feeling---it'll pass. Later, when you take a nice healthy poo (there really is no polite way to say that, LOL) you will silently thank me for your satisfaction. You're welcome. If you get thirsty, drink some room-temperature water, for better absorption. Try to avoid too cold of drinks, they just don't sink into your system so well. I try to drink a cup of warm tea before I take my fiber. You can hardly have enough liquid when taking a crap-ton of fiber, some pun intended. You should notice some high-qual poo. If you listened, like a good student, you avoided the pitfalls of the Kleri-tea, and are doing quite well. I also take a product called Boku Super Cleanse (I am referring to Step 1) which keeps the fiber moving through my system, so no back-ups. It is semi-spendy, so use at your own discretion/budget. Take all other supplements about 2 hours before or 2 hours after the fiber, otherwise they will not absorb. Set a timer. As long as you are getting enough water, and pacing yourself (if you're not used to extra fiber, slow the heck down and take smaller amounts, working your way up)you should be fine. I can handle at least 1.5 scoops per use, maybe 2 at a time. It's up to you. Try to eat healthier, so the fiber moves right. Go to Mercola.com and take the Nutritional Typing Quiz for free (limited time, I think) and eat according to your type, it will help you be thinner or gain weight, whatever your needs. It's good stuff. But I digress. The blender bottle is a worthy investment, and can also be used for protein shakes, or anything you want to mix efficiently (making salad dressing, what have you) without a lot of fiddle-jacking around. I have a couple of them, they rock super-hard. If you need more info, ask. I will get an e-mail if you comment. Some great sites for health are curezone.com, naturalnews.com, and mercola.com. All amazing resources for research which have eaten up many an hour of my young life, but it was time well-spent. Now go do something good for your health, and beat some major donkey in your life. You deserve that. Make sure to work out, try strength training and highly-effective interval training, try praying, and being more positive. Nothing gets done if we're all laying around thinking how bad things are. The better you are, the better we all are. Do the research, ask the questions, don't be afraid of the answers. I never am. Now go and Be well. Note: Not every person will have the same results with *any* product. 10 people can take the same herb or supplement and get 10 separate results. If you try something, listen to your body. It speaks to you. Some people experience a Herxheimer reaction, which is a feeling of sickness/symptoms caused by toxins. This often makes you feel unwell enough to want to quit your detox. I tend to just get over it, don't be a namby-pamby, and keep the detox going. But if you do feel the need to stop using a product, don't feel bad, your unique body chemistry may just not play well with that particular product. Take heed. |
