De Natura Fossilium,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: De Natura Fossilium (Textbook of Mineralogy) (Dover Earth Science) (Hardcover)
This is fast becoming one of my favorite books. I have not really gotten far into it (I really need a bookmark) because I am so busy copying down references (I actually enjoy this) and various vocab (not an expert). It's hard to imagine a Mineralogy text without accompanying photos and illustrations(?), but the use of precise, descriptive lingo really helps this text (and my ability to convey like material). I bought the Pliny book and have put it down to read this one by preference. It comes brand new at a nice price (Dover is the expert on this) and hard-backed(!).
It also sustains my interest in Mineralogy that gets lost somewhere from time to time. Thanks to Wikipedia.org, I found this title as referenced in their article on Mineralogy. |
